A group of friends and I ate at this Applebees from about 10:30-11:00 last night. The moment we walked in, we were faced with very loud club type music. It took us two attempts for the staff to actually turn it down to a non-blaring level. The music just made the atmosphere awful in general.
We ordered the cheese sticks appetizer. They tasted like the frozen ones you pop into the oven at home. We also ordered chips and salsa. Our waitress could not keep our chips and salsa stocked or at least even a little bit full for the life of her. For 4 people, we were only brought ONE tiny cup of salsa. The tray of chips probably held like 10-12 chips; they were gone in 2 minutes.We only received one refill on the salsa and the tray of chips and that was because we asked. The chips and salsa appetizer was a huge rip off and we so felt we didn't get our money's worth.. Our waitress came to our table plenty of times and somehow, we still weren't given a full service.
The atmosphere was poor. This may not be under the staff's control, but the bar area was lit up like a grocery store milk aisle. We all felt incredibly uncomfortable. We considered leaving at the beginning, but decided to stay because we had already ordered and drinks and an appetizer. If it were solely up to me, we would have left very early on. We all wish we did.

Safety concern!
Stopped to get some dinner at this location while I was on the phone with my friend a customer was sitting in the booth directly in front of me appear to be intoxicated. He turned around and asked me to not talk on the phone and to lower my voice, cussed me out and made a threatening statement towards me, and that he will do something if I don’t hang up the phone.
When I asked for the manager Rauel showed up, and I explained to her the whole story instead of immediately kick them out of the building and has zero tolerance for behavioral like that, she moved me to a different table and kept them enjoying their dinner.
At that point, I didn’t feel comfortable at all to stay and I said that I’m gonna leave because the nature of the situation. I had ordered my food that I did not touch and she end up charging me for something I didn’t touch.
The situation was handled very poorly by the manager, she was not firm at all, and was trying to have me not to say anything so other people doesn’t listen to our conversation and when I said I’m gonna leave, she said, yeah you’ll have to pay.
I think Applebee’s need to do better job to take care of their customer, safety and well-being and to have zero tolerance for behavioral like that.

I wasn't expecting much given the fact that I was dining at a big chain like Applebees, but I was overwhelmingly dissatisfied. I sat in the bar area right at lunch time and noticed there were only like 5 other tables being served. This should have been my first clue to leave. I decided to give it a go and ordered the southwest steak salad and an order of chips and salsa. My waitress was actually the bartender since I sat in the bar area and she was actually pretty nice. She didn't say much, but took care of what I needed. The chips and salsa came out and they were about average. I actually enjoyed the chips, but the salsa tasted like it was out of a jar. Lastly, my salad came and it was less than desirable. The lettuce was wilted, not crispy and some pieces were even discolored. Not appetizing! The steak was cooked okay, but the flavor wasn't that great at all. Overall the meal was a bust....I ate what I could and left. Now, that wasn't the worst part, believe it or not. I sat in the back of the bar area at a high top table where I thought it would be somewhat peaceful. WRONG....This apparently is where the wait staff, along with the manager, like to stand and converse. I learned all about the wait staffs personal lives from 3 feet away.
