Came here with my family on a Thursday night and our experience wasn’t good. There was no wait so we got sat immediately which was nice . Everything started well we order the flame tabilitas for the table (2 adults and our 3 & 5 year old daughters and our 7 year old son). We order Clase Azul Paloma.. they didn’t give us clase azul they gave us a different tequila which was not bad and only 12$ but we could see the clase azul from our table at the bar. We order our food my husband got the steak entree with NO CREMA and I got shrimp fajitas. My kids got fries, beans , rice, and shrimp. When our food came out my husbands food had crema, we told them that he said no crema and they took it back. When it came out the 2nd time the steak was more well done and the crema was scrapped off but still had drops visable on the dish and in the onions. My husband did not touch it and they did take it off the check and offered to remake but he couldn’t trust that they would really remake it since they didn’t do that the first time. At that point no one was helping our table we started having to pull waiters to get refills etc. I ordered the fried ice cream and they brought it out with no silver wear or plates to share with the kiddos! Once I could finally get someone to come over and get slivers wears the girl rolled her eyes and never came back. Our waiter finally came over and gave use silver wear… now for the worst part we ask for the check and a 2 go box for the tablitas and our waiter tell us THEY RAN OUT OF TO GO BOXS.. it’s 5:30PM and your telling me you ran out of 2 go box?! We called someone else over and they were able to get us a 2 go box. Waiters excuse was that it was in the kitchen. I also want to add that it wasn’t busy and there was a lot of people just walking around doing nothing. We are good customers and enjoy meals with our friends and family out often and live in the area, and this was the worst service I have ever had! Once we finally got the check we were all ready TO GO…. Like we had it !Unfortunately we would never return to dine in with our kids ever again. IF we come back it will be to sit at the bar. & it will be months and months before we do because they really need to get it together first and get some good quality employees ! My fajitas were good and so were the tabilitas and my kids did enjoy their food. But the service made that not matter AT ALL. The ambiance is nice. the music is loud but it’s a vibe! And the decoration is really nice they kept the same type of atmosphere and aesthetic as the deep elm location except the service is better over there! Like I said though, the service completely took away from anything we thought was good when we came in. We left Vidorra regretting on eating here instead of going somewhere else.. they took of the 3 lemonades we ordered for the kids.. I guess that could be a plus for some people but money is not the issue at all.. would have preferred to pay for the full tab leave a great tip and more drinks etc and receive good service then bad service and get drinks taken of the check.

Make sure to read till the end to find out why I gave this restaurant 5 stars. When I initially walked in, I was taken back by the overall design of the interior. It was very well done and the lighting was just right. I was shown to my table and within a few minutes, a young gentleman brought out some chips and salsa and a water. The chips were well seasoned and still nice and warm. The red and the green salsa were both equally delicious. Shortly after, Valeria (my waitress) politely greeted me and took my order. I already knew what I wanted from seeing a previous review. I ordered the EL CHURRASCO. It’s a 10 oz Pasilla Crusted Skirt Steak, Chimichurri, Lime Crema, and Smoked Potatoes. About 10 minutes or so went by and Valeria brought my entree out. It looked incredible!!! I quickly found out that looks weren’t everything. I attempted to cut into the steak and realized that not only was the knife somewhat dull, but the steak itself was quite tough, although it was still medium rare-ish. However, It did have a great flavor. I decided to move over to the potatoes. The exterior/skin was rather hard and even the inside seemed quite a bit over done. The waitress came by shortly after and I politely informed her of the slight issues with my food. She immediately insisted on making it right, all while maintaining a smile. After talking with the waitress for a few moments, I agreed to letting them remake it. 10 minutes or so went by and she returned with the new and improved El Churrasco. I took the backside of the knife and barely pressed onto the potatoes and it instantly punctured it. Good sign number 1. I then slightly pressed onto the steak and I could tell immediately that it was perfectly cooked. I cut into it and tried a bite and instantly fell in love with the perfect mixture of flavor and texture. At one point, I told Valeria how much I loved chimichurri. She decided on her own to bring me out a side of their chimichurri rice to try. Of course it was amazing. Due to the great service from my waitress and the kind manager who came by and made the entire situation right; this is why I’m giving them 5 stars.

To be honest, I was caught off gaurd. As someone who is not as young as I used to be, I did not expect to have such a spectacular experience. It all started with the manager, Dominique. We had a large party, and we told it would be around an hour and a half wait. She did many things to make our wait, as comfortable as possible including lemonade for the kids and some chips and hot sauce for the adults. Our wait ended up being only about 50 minutes, considering we were a party of 12 on a Saturday night, that's pretty good. Once we were seated, our server Nayeli, went to work. She got our drink orders quickly and had them, along with some spectacular queso and delicious guacamole, to our table in no time at all. She efficiently took our orders and wrote them down carefully as to make sure each of our plates were accurate when they came out. As expected, they were. There was not one mistake made on the order for 12 people, very impressive! Nayeli kept all of our drinks topped off and not one complaint was made the entire meal. When the check came everything was accurate and I had no issues paying. We gathered the family for a picture and a member of the staff stepped out to snap the pictures for us so nobody had to be left out. When we started towards our car, to drive home after such a wonderful evening, we could not find our keys. We went back into the restaurant and began searching. When Dominique saw us she inquired what we were looking for. Upon hearing it was our keys, she asked several members of the staff to help search for our keys, and they obliged. After about 10 minutes the keys were found outside of the restaurant. I named a couple of the staff by name, but everyone I had contact with was polite and attentive. What an awesome experience. I not only am posting this review but plan on telling anyone who will listen about the out of this world experience I had at Vidorra! Thanks again, you made this night unforgettable and one we will reminisce about for years. Very respectfully, Shea Gillespie

Amazing Experience! We used the waitlist feature of Google maps to get in line before we left the house. That was a good way to go since when we arrived at 6:30ish there was already an hour long wait. We were celebrating my wife's birthday and of all the restaurants in Rockwall, she chose Vidorra to celebrate her big day. We arrived as a party of 3 waiting on our 4th and the Bar Manager Jeanna let us hang out at a pub table on the enclosed patio while we waited the last few minutes for our table. We had only been to Vidorra once before, but Jeanna remembered us. I told her it was my wife's birthday and she said she had something in mind. Pablo in the bar knew we were only waiting there, but took our drink order anyway and brought chips/salsa and water to us. As it turns out, our table was ready before our drinks arrived. Pablo said no worries, he'd bring the drinks to our table. Then, Jeanna shows up with a birthday shot for my wife! Once we were seated, our 4th still hadn't arrived and so we had chips and cocktails while we waited. Dominique, the Restaurant Manager came by and introduced herself along with Gabriella "Gabby" our server. They were very friendly and when they learned it was my wife's birthday, they went into high gear. My wife got the massive "Vidorrita" for her birthday libation and it came out with the sparklers and some extra mango puree which she had requested. Our 4th showed up and we got guacamole to start. The chips are very crispy and fresh with some seasoning. They come with salsa and a green sauce, but we added the guac and it was amazing. Gabby was an amazing host and managed all our weird requests with ease. Then we ordered our meal and it was fantastic. I got the street taco plate that includes rice and delicious borracho beans. The others got the Molcajeta bowls. I haven't seen anything like them in the other Mexican places in Rockwall. The birthday girl got the Tablitas En Fuego Bowl which was loaded with grilled short ribs, jalapeno cheddar sausage, and chipotle BBQ grilled chicken along with fajita veggies and tortillas. It arrived as a giant pile of YUM on one of the stone bowls they heat to 400 degrees. The other couple both ordered the Verde Bowl which consisted of fajita beef and chicken, along with shrimp in a delicious sauce served in the stone bowl. The Verde bowls come out at the temperature of the sun and the taste is reportedly amazing. The bowl keeps the deliciousness warm the entire time. After another visit from Dominique (Dom) the restaurant manager, and Jeanna the bar manager, another round of birthday shots magically appeared with sparklers and mixed tropical fruits. The managers wanted my wife's birthday to be special and they did everything they could to make that happen. Conclusion: Vidorra is a special kind of place and the word has apparently gotten out because it is always packed with folks having great food, great drinks, and a great time. The staff is amazing. They are very quick to respond even when every table is full. And they are always happy and accommodating. I live in the country and it's a bit of a drive to Vidorra, but well worth it. In some ways, I wish I lived closer to the place, but in reality, it's probably good that I don't. I'd be there every night with my wife and friends enjoying everything Vidorra...
