Great atmosphere, very festive. The server was so nice and helpful with suggestions for our meal. She kept checking in on us throughout the night to make sure we had everything we needed. The fried pickles with their dipping sauce were a fun surprise, really good. Also, I enjoyed the Burrata pizza. Although it tastes great on it's own it could have used a balsamic glaze to sweeten it a bit. My friend opted for the Kimchi fries (slightly spicy) and the fruit pizza. It looked like a healthy summer salad, covered in feta and fruit, and was told it was pretty good. Parking was a bit of a struggle. We found street parking behind the location in a residential street. Great local spot to check out.

I loved the Beyond(R) Chicken & Waffles! The taste combination is outstanding, and the chicken tenders in it really were like eating real chicken meat. Yum. I was especially glad to see Seven vegetarian entrees on the brunch menu! We sat outside on the patio on a lovely afternoon and watched the carnival event beside us. There’s usually a family-friendly event happening on the weekend. Chad was our waiter today and he is always so attentive. Much thanks to him and the R Public House establishment. The Shrimp and grits is a favorite brunch meal of my husband. Their Bloody Mary is my favorite in the city! We will definitely return.

Another edit! I'm tired of the extremely rude server with the braids that always acts like everyone that's eating there is personally making her life worse. Idk if she's a manager or what because she gets away with acting like the customers are trash but my group isn't coming back anymore because of her...

Edit...changed from 5 stars. We've been coming to brunch every Sunday for several months now, but unfortunately the last couple times the food has been very disappointing. We got the pierogis, those were undercooked and the server wasn't very friendly like the regular servers we see. The last time we went, the waffles were barely cooked, there was something floating in one of our drinks, and we were served plain pancakes which the server knew wasn't the correct order. When the server came back they took the plain pancakes and came back with the same ones, only with toppings on them, so they were cold and soggy. We also had no refills the entire time although there were only a couple other tables though that's a much smaller concern. It's really sad, we loved coming here and have enjoyed this place for a long time, but we'll be taking a break for a while and finding another brunch spot, hopefully in a couple months or so we'll come back and it will be better.

(Original: Always a good time, and good food. Sometimes the servers are a bit... ditzy for lack of a better word lol but still love...

Indulging in the culinary delights at R Public House in Chicago was a sensory experience like no other. Opting to dine outside, I found myself perched on the sidewalk, with the majestic Lake Michigan at my back and the Red line to the west. A gentle cross breeze played with my hair as I eagerly awaited the arrival of the much-anticipated bacon fig burger.

The moment of truth arrived as I took the first bite of the burger, and I was instantly transported to a realm of gastronomic bliss. The combination of succulent bacon, rich goat cheese, and tangy pickled red onions created a symphony of flavors that danced on my taste buds. The crowning glory was the fig jam dip, offering a sweet contrast that elevated the dish to new heights.

As I savored each bite, I couldn't help but appreciate the artistry behind the dish and the attention to detail in its presentation. The timing of that first bite was indeed crucial, allowing me to fully appreciate the harmonious blend of ingredients with each mouthful.

In conclusion, dining at R Public House was not just a meal but a culinary journey that left me craving for more. From the picturesque setting to the exquisite flavors, every aspect of the experience was nothing short of exceptional. If you find yourself at R Public House, do yourself a favor and savor the bacon fig burger—it's a delight that will linger in your memory long after...

so, just finished having dinner here. I have to say the food was great. I had a tuna melt with fries well done. I will say there were a lot of bees. So if you’re allergic to bees just don’t be outside cause they are everywhere. While I was eating, a bee landed on my sandwich. The server was super nice and offered to move me to another table. But I declined because I had an excellent view of all the very pretty potted plants that they had around there. That’s probably what attracted the bees. Nature! However a bee did scare me when it landed in my drink and I excitedly jumped up and threw the table over and ruined my meal. The server quickly came out and help me clean myself off and then asked if I needed a discount for my ruined meal. Of course I declined because it was my fault for not excepting to move in the first place. She also asked if I should have my food to go but given that it was on the floor I declined that as well. So in the end, maybe not the quite uneventful afternoon that I anticipated. But we all know mother nature will intervene as she sees fit. However the service here is excellent especially my server who I believe is named Jenny, and she kind a looks like JonBenét Ramsey. Will definitely continue to dine here and give my support to the small businesses in our...
