Generally, we come to Famous Daves and we like it a lot but today is the Super Bowl so we ordered an online carry out now. We did the same thing at Famous Daves about five years ago and it was a complete disaster when we got to the restaurant to pick it up so we said we’ll never do that again Today we said why don’t we go ahead and order? It was five years ago? Maybe it’s different We order to carry out online. I get the Famous Daves to pick up on time five minutes early actually it’s just a crazy mob. They have the most inefficient ridiculously stupid system in place to put people through. Even though I ordered online, I still had to get in line to see the cashier so I can get a receipt showing I had already paid online. What was the point of ordering online if I had to come in and get in line with people who are still ordering and paying for their food? What was the point of going online ordering and paying ahead of time? Then after you get your receipt. You have to go in the other room that’s a mob scene and wait for somebody to take your receipt so they can get your food. This is inefficient and ridiculously stupid as it was last time. This type of stuff makes me feel like not even ordering Famous Daves under good...
Read moreThe host arrived about a half minute after I did and quickly showed me to a seat. I had a few minutes to peruse the menus before the server arrived and took my drink and meal order. Ordered the Two Meat Combo with an extra side (only $2.49 extra) because I couldn't decide between Mac & cheese and the collard greens. Picked ribs and sausage for the meats. Collard greens are good, different flavor than I've had previously, but solid. Interestingly, the mac & cheese has corn in it. Not bad, just different. Very creamy and delicious. The ribs were good. Not falling off the bone but tasty. The sausage was big and juicy with decent flavor pre-sauce. The cornbread muffin was a little bland but seriously moist. The Wilbur's Revenge sauce, their hottest, while very spicy, has an odd powdery aspect to it. You'll give up the heat and get better flavor with the Devil's Spit sauce instead. The music was at a proper volume. But I'm curious why BBQ places feel the need to play only country music. It certainly ties in with the checked tablecloths and the wood everywhere but BBQ is enjoyed by fans of jazz, rock, heavy metal, classical, reggae, et al. The cliché is worn out. Decent quantity of food for the price but the quality...
Read moreCame into famous Dave’s like we do normally on a Monday no one was at the host stand per usual so we went and sat at the bar someone comes out the back and yell the bar top isn’t open
So we go the host stand to get a better understanding of why the bar isn’t open the young man at the front was very polite trying to explain that who ever was the supposed to be at the bar was helping work the dining area and she felt like working the bar and working the floor was too much to do I asked well are y'all not selling alcohol beverages because it doesn’t make sense she had to come to the bar if people is ordering drinks anyways so why aren’t we able to sit at the bar we don’t require much when we come here he said I’ll try to ask her. In the back you hear Natalie yell at the young man and say are you scared to tell her ?!?!
Then Natalie come out and say that they aren’t opening the bar because they are short staffed I’ve never seen a restaurant shut down a whole bar but still has to go the bar to make drinks if you don’t have a staff that can man the bar and floor and still stay afloat what’s the point of having them I’m very...
