***DIABETIC REVIEW*** I am a Type 2 Diabetic... ***Diabetic Review*** I have Type 2 Diabetes This is such a great restaurant - so themed, so friendly, so clean. The menu has gone under several updates through the years, but it's extensive and there is something for everyone! I avoided as many carbs as possible, but it's not that hard at a Mexican restaurant. The Fajita's or any seafood or meat dish is always a great idea. Minimize the chips and salsa, and you aren't doing so bad. Service has been great in the past - this day for lunch, it wasn't as focused as normal and our server didn't understand us as we asked for refills of our water and he never returned - only to come back with more chips and salsa. The fajita's weren't "sizzling" as you would expect from most Mexican restaurants...but they were fresh and pretty tasty. The only strange thing (and I've had a ton of fajitas from all sorts of Mexican restaurants) was the pieces of chicken - the steak and shrimp were larger portions - the chicken was small strips. Otherwise, you can't really go wrong here. Just be careful with the margarita's since they may contain mostly sugar, unless you go for straight tequila! Enjoy!!! I’ve eaten at a ton of Mexican restaurants before but this is my favorite of all. By a long shot. The decor when you walk in is themed so well. It’s cozy and fun and just full of class. The servers (most have been here since the opening like Benito) are amazing. All of them. Great service. Friendly and reliable. The food - WOW - there really isn’t a bad thing on the menu. But beware the portion sizes are larger than you think. I’ve had their fajitas before and a ton of their chicken dishes (all are fabulous) but this time I went for the tostada dinner. The chicken tostada was phenomenal. I don’t know how they season that chicken but it was amazing. The toppings are piled high. It’s hard to pickup. Had to start with my fork. And you’ll need plenty of napkins. The prices are decent and the variety is good because you can find something for everyone here. Highly recommend this place. You may have leftovers. Enjoy!!!

I give this place ZERO STARS! I worked a double today and only had 30 mins for a lunch break. I called ahead to order my food which was only 3 shrimp tacos with cilantro cheese and onion ONLY! I paid almost $13 and each taco comes with 3 pieces of shrimp. Well when I made it back to work and finally opened my food I realized they put tomato’s in my tacos. It was so much juice from the tomato’s to where I was unable to pick up the corn tortillas because they were already breaking from all the tomato juice. I called them MANAGER BENITO & WAITRESS SUSAN immediately to let them know I would like to exchange my food but wouldn’t be able to until I get off and unfortunately I needed to eat something quick so all I had was my tacos. I only ate the 9 pieces of shrimp and nothing else. I also declined the chips that come with my tacos. I was told by the lady to bring back the tacos so I did but the shrimp I ate so because I at the shrimp they would not replace my tacos even though they could see I picked up my food in my work uniform and dropped off the rest of the food in my dirty work uniform. They told me all they could give me was 1.06 for the 6 tortillas because they claim I ate 90% of the food. Benito and Susan were looking at me crazy like I was lying to them almost in a racist way. I couldn’t believe the type of customer service I received. I even tried to see if I could get 2 shrimp tacos instead of 3 and they still wouldn’t give me that. I RECOMMEND NOT EATING HERE because their customer service is HORRIBLE & HEARTLESS. I am a veteran so I’m not use to poor customer service because I try to go to places who truly honor veterans & service workers. I WILL NOT BE BACK & NEITHER SHOULD YOU!

Came in with a 4 top and got seated right away. Place was moderate busy.. it was Saturday at 630 after all. Chips and salsa were dropped soon after. Chips were out of a bag and real poor quality. Salsa was just meh, nothing special. Our waiter could not have been worst. Guy spoke barely a lick of English. He needed to bring over another guy to help with the order. We ordered drinks first. I ordered the only alcoholic beverage a 27 oz mango Margherita. Sickening sweet like they just poured the mango compound in with the house tequila. I had to wait for the ice to melt a bit before I could drink it. I even added water to thin it out. Ordered the queso dip and chips. That showed up with a thick skin from sitting in the window too long. Then there were no chips to go with it. Our entrees came out 30 seconds later We got 4 different entrees and I thought my shrimp and chicken salad looked the best out of all of them. The other three got a taco dinner and the two combo plates. I liked my roasted veggies and the shrimp on my salad, I wish it would of stopped there because the whole salad was wrecked by the amount if salt they used in the chicken. Even mixing some lettuce and veg with the chicken did not help cut the salt. I hope the Highland store is still better than the one on Rt30. Sorry. It's the only photo I took. I won't bother coming back to drop $100 for substandard Mexican food.

We were greeted at the front door with dead plants in the vestibule. Service was poor. The food was dry and burnt. The drinks were bad.

Service We asked for a table for two and were offered a booth by the bathroom and the kitchen. The greeter walked away before we acknowledged if the table met our standards or sat down. We went back to the front and said we'd be happy to wait for another table. Were asked by Anna, the greeter, if a table would work, to which we replied yes.

Our waiter, who out of courtesy I will leave nameless, did not initially seem to value our presence. He took our drink order and when I asked for a little more time to order the food he never came back. We waited for around 10 mins and when I gestured for his help he nodded, finished conversing with Anna, then left the area. When he returned he politely went to three other tables where customers were eating and engaged in lively conversations to ask did they need anything. Each table he went to everyone replied no and immediately returned to their conversations. Then he finally walked over to our table and said, "Ok ladies, how can I help you."

Food We ordered an appetizer first to test the food quality before ordering. Since the plants in the front were dead, and the greeter did not listen to us when we asked for a table, we did not have much confidence in what the kitchen staff might do. When our beef and cheese nachos arrived they looked very unappealing. There were burnt chips and the cheese looked like plastic. There were no tomatoes, or sour cream, or peppers. Just a horrible looking bowl of dried, burnt, nachos, beef and cheese. The waiter was apologetic and said he would void the nachos from the bill. He did show remorse and invited us to enjoy our drinks and not feel rushed.

Drinks My daughter ordered a Pina Colada Margarita only drank 1/8 of it. My Rose wine tasted cheap and the glass was filled 1/3 full when the waiter brought it to me. There is something anticlimactic about getting a wine glass that isn't even half filled. I drank half of that and left the rest because the wine tasted so bad.

Summary Tonight my adult daughter and I went to a restaurant that we went to with our family starting 12 years ago. My husband and I used to take the kids here when they were in grammar school. I will not return. I do not feel my dollars are valued, the food quality is poor, and we could not even enjoy our drinks. It is very disheartening when a neighborhood business does not keep up it's standards.

The most disheartening part of it all was the waiter came to the register and spoke to greeter and the man that was cashing us out in Spanish. The only thing I could understand was the word nachos. The whole payment process went by with them talking about what I presume was our order, but nothing was conveyed to my daughter or I. We did not receive any words regarding the nachos, I don't recall being thanked for our business or told to have a great night. I think this was the worst...
