I've got to be honest here, because that is what people are going to want. This is not tradition Mediterranean food to me. It was more of a "fusion" and I don't mean that in a bad way, but it just wasn't what I was expecting, it's interesting how you can pick and choose what you want, but be mindful of the flavor combinations...
I tried the Detroit Gyro and it was just okay, sort of bland. The sauce really didn't seem to compliment the meal (the sauce is what was recommended to me by the staff, which were awesome, super friendly people). Or maybe I am just use to what I normally think of when I get a Gyro in Cleveland, Best Gyros or in BG at Yala Kol. They are much larger and more authentic I believe.
My son got the white meat chicken shawarma and it was okay, some of the chicken he said seemed "weird" to him, so I tried it and some of the pieces seemed tough to me, again, kind of bland taste. We both made it a meal and received fries and they were pretty tasty and nice and hot, so that was good.
Daughter got a bowl with friend chicken pieces and she said that was good but didn't like the rice. I tried the rice and thought it was good just had a lot of saffron taste to it, which I actually like, but you know how kids are........ 🙄
I honestly forget what my wife got, it was a folded over pita that had melted cheese, chicken and other things in it. She said that she liked it. I did not try it however, so I can not comment.
Pricing was sort of on the high side, which is common for the area and just about where ever you go these days. ...So, ultimately, it'll be interesting to see how this places does, considering that Yala Kol is literally 1000ft to the North. I'd say try the Gyro and Shawarma at both places and come back to comment. I'm all for more food places, it just brings more options to the table, so to speak.

Read moreWe stopped at Pita Way - Rossford for dinner after a long day of driving with a 4 year old and 9 month old. Not only were they incredibly patient at walking us through how to order, but they specifically called out the free kids bowl deal (all kids 12 and under eat free - 2 kids per adult entree). Not only was the service great but the food rocked! They make their own sauces and some pickled items in house (the pickled cabbage is amazing!) The icing on the cake - when our four year old dropped his bowl making a huge mess, who I assume was the manager working tonight (who had been talking us through everything) saw, and came over to ask us what his bowl had in it - and made a new one. Just outstanding service, amazing food, clean interior.
The only down side (and it wasn't enough to downgrade the rating) was there was not a changing table in either bathroom, so plan around that.
This will likely be a planned stop any time we make a road trip...
Read moreMy husband and I came in for our first visit the Thursday after they opened, after excitedly watching their construction as we drove by the last few months. We were greeted immediately with welcomes and smiles and PATIENCE! As we had never been to this restaurant before but were so eager to try, we had a lot of questions that all the staff answered happily. They gave my husband samples of the tabbouli, which he loved. We both decided on the “pita way bowl” with a rice base, and dark meat chicken. There are traditional Mediterranean toppings such as tourshi, pickled turnips, tomatoes, onions, sumac, chick peas, etc. it is ultimately the vibe of a Mediterranean style Chipotle, but SO MUCH BETTER! And OMG… THEIR FRIES ARE TO DIE FOR. We both kept complimenting the food through full mouths. We will be returning, especially because we did not get a chance to try the baklava this time. Thanks for an...
