After driving 4 hours from Kentucky, we decided to stop and grab a quick late bite at 8 pm, there were 6+ a child. We ordered around 8:10. It took 10 minutes for the server to inform us that they were out of crispy chicken. My sister law accepted tenders as a substitute. Another 10 minutes went by for them to realize we had another order with a crispy chicken item, again, tenders were acceptable. So 2 orders of pancakes, 3 tenders & 2 burgers were not even being cooked. While a table of 2 had been seated 10+ minutes after we ordered, received 5 plates of food before ours.
The two staff members had been sitting on the other side of the dining room when I walked outside to grab my hoodie and noticed 5 plates in the window for at least 2 minutes as they sat. The food was not even ours after 40 minutes.
We decided to leave after 50 minutes and only seeing one burger being served in the window we told the server we were leaving due to our wait and no apologies or explanation.
They did try to say they had only one cook and a large carry-out order they had held up the kitchen. Yet upon entrance, there had been no cook in the kitchen for some time, no carry out boxes ever put up, no person picking up a carry out of “7 orders.”
As a server with 16 years experience in high volume, fast paced, fine dining, nightclubs and dive bars… this whole experience was miserable and unacceptable.
Carry out (if there even was one) was priority over dine in. WE WERE THE ONLY TABLE IN THE BUILDING. No apologies or warnings that the kitchen would take a bit longer. An order identical to ours placed a good 10 minutes after got served first.
I’m very understanding of the crisis with short staffing, unreliable shipments and low inventory. However, there was NO excuse for the staff to not be considerate or apologetic regardless if they were at fault or not. We are in the service industry and I should never have a waitress nor manager walk away with an attitude when we chose to leave because after 50 minutes and an empty dining room, none of our food had been served or the wait acknowledged.
This experience is why businesses fail. And the 2 FOH staff present, should be trained on proper etiquette for longer than normal wait times and how to make the customers feel attended too instead of an...
Read moreOnly giving this 1 star because no stars isn’t an option. I ordered dinner for myself through the IHOP website for delivery. Delivery was by door dash. After an hour my order was still not ready/picked up. My order wasn’t picked up until well after the 50 minute delivery window. I reached out to doordash to cancel. By the time a customer service agent got on the phone the order was on the way. Doordash told me since the order was placed through IHOP that I needed to speak with the restaurant. The food arrived with no seals and cold as suspected. I spoke with the manager who was not willing to help. She told me that IHOP as a company does not do refunds so beware if you have any issues during your dining experience. She told me that doordash had to refund my money. Doordash told me that IHOP had to refund my money since the order was placed through website. They even called ahead of me and spoke with the restaurant. The door dash agent stated the restaurant had my payment information and were expecting my call. When I called the person indicated that they just spoken with door dash and placed me on hold for the manager. My call was disconnected after a few minutes. I called backed only to be placed on hold for another 10 minutes. It’s very upsetting to spend $25 on dinner that I put straight in the trash. When I pointed out to the manager she was offering no solution and making this my problem she finally said she would offer to remake the food and that I could pick it up which defeats the purpose of ordering delivery. Very very disappointing and will certainly never be back. Will also never be using door dash delivery...
Read moreMy husband, daughter and myself came here to get a late breakfast. The second we walked in, the hostess made us feel extremely uncomfortable with her demeanor and lack of that “hostess” personality. She sat us in a booth where we were given a booster seat for our daughter, which was entirely too big for the booth (which was small enough for adults to squeeze into). The server we had asked if we got a kids menu, in which we didn’t because we were told they ran out. She walked away, came back with a kids menu and 2 broken crayons saying “We had the menus but ran out of crayons, I was able to scrounge these up for you.” As nice of a gesture as that was, the crayons were obviously used from a previous child, which we did not give to our daughter. When the food finally came out, our pancake order was incorrect (we just let it go, wasn’t a huge deal) but the rest of the food was hardly edible. You can tell it sat out for far too long in the pass through window, it was cold, no flavor, and tasted extremely old. We tried to give our daughter the “best parts” of the meal and ended up not eating 3/4 of everything else. The overall service from the staff was concerning, with one server very loudly talking to another server about something old in the cooler saying “well at least it’s not that old I guess”, right in front of the guests. They all had drinks and food right out in the open that they were helping themselves to. Multiple other guests around us were also complaining about their food being cold, undercooked, dirty glassware, etc. Hopefully whoever is managing this restaurant location can turn...
