I have been shopping at Meijer for years & I'm quite disappointed with the experience I had at the Perrysburg location today. I had to return a few things that were given to me as a gift so unfortunately I did not have a receipt nor was I given a gift receipt. I haven't returned anything without a receipt for the last 2 years. The young man at the counter contacted his supervisor & informed her that I had previous returns without a receipt so she told him she'd be right up. It took her quite awhile to get up to us (the other customer service rep took care of 5 customers within that time) & after waiting for her she hardly looked at the screen & rather loudly said no you need a receipt if you want to return these since you've had other returns without a receipt in the past. There were other customers near by so there's absolutely no reason why I needed to wait that long for her to come up & state that I needed a receipt if I wanted to return the items since I had returns without a receipt in the past. She merely could've said that over the phone instead of humiliating me the way she did. In my opinion I feel that she was out of line for that & I called Walmart & Kroger they both informed me that you are allowed a certain amount in returns per year, whereas Meijer keeps a life long return history in their system. I don't know why Meijer is different then other stores, however, that's not even what bothered me. As a supervisor it should've been handled in a different manner especially since I was asking for an instore credit...
Read moreGenerally I have a wonderful experience at the store. But today the staff working out on the floor with helping me answering my questions and Dean wonderful the problem came when I got ready to check out. My cashiers name was John M very rude very condescending to me. When I advised him I had two separate orders and I was putting them on the on the conveyor belt he started moving it and put the two orders together. When I asked him to please stop so I can get the orders we separated out. He mumbled something under his breath at me when I asked him to repeat what he said he was in shock that I heard him. I asked for a manager he acted like he didn't understand why I wanted a manager and tried to talk me out of it. My order had several different things one order had bathroom cleaning products which he put in with vegetables fresh vegetables when I asked him not to put bathroom supplies in with food he became even router with a manager standing there watching and corrected him and said no cleaning products should be in with food. I had a nice talk with the manager and he was very apologetic and after what he saw he advised me he would take care of it right away very happy with the way that the management stepped up and took care of things when I talked to them and they could see...
Read moreI've had mixed luck in this store, the only reason I shop here as much as I do is, they are the only ones still open, when I get off work at 11pm. Since the pandemic, Kroger and Walmart close at 11pm.
First the good. the store is logically laid out, for the most part. The produce section is well kept up and pleasing to the eye. Most of the time, the employees at customer service desk have been fine to deal. The one door greeter is very cheery, albeit a bit eccentric, but in a good way.
The not so good- The customer service desk needs a 2nd person a majority of the time, the pet section much too isolated and needed to be placed closer to the grocery section. Childrens toys, games, and office supplies would be better placed further off from the grocery aisles.
The Bad- Let me just say, many people on staff have been a pleasure to deal with, however, a couple people working in the front end I have found to be unprofessional and one downright rude. Discussing controversial subjects out loud, in front of customers I don't find makes for a good check out experience.
So, The Rossford Meijer has a lot going for it but needs to work on...
