We had a work event here last night with about 15 people. The staff was friendly, fairly knowledgable as we had a vegan joining us and they don't have a very 'vegan' menu. Okay, well they one item a salad. It looked quite good as well. We had a couple of drinks and ordered dinner. All received what they ordered, we all received our dinner together as well. Often in a big group it's inevitable that someone has to wait for their food. This didn't happen here.
We ordered some appetizers: calamari, antipasto, sausage and peppers and perhaps a fourth but can't recall. Calamari were the fingers. these were okay. I love rings, fingers are always chewy and rubbery. No different here Sausage and peppers: Highlight. best no question. A bit of a kick and nicely cooked. Great flavor. Must order Antipasto: This was pretty good too. Olives, cheeses, meats. Can't really go wrong. Served with toasted points.
For dinner, I had the lamb chops and asked for them to prepared medium rare. While they didn't come out medium rare, they were quite close. I thought very reasonable price-wise as well consider there were (3) double chops. The mint lime sauce was very tasty. I had them put this on the side as often time it's over powering. This was not like others I've had. Steaks, salads, pasta, chicken and pizza were all ordered. I didn't hear any complaints for dinner and again, I would highly recommend the lamb if that's something you like. Served with a side salad or cup of soup. I chose the salad and while it could have had a little less olive oil dressing, it was very fresh and quite good. Ample amount as well.
Dessert: Oh my. Split cannoli's and had their cinnamon donuts. Cannoli was decent, those donuts however were omg mouth watering delisiousness. Warm, fresh, soft and just enough cinnamon sugar. Highly recommend the donuts. The coffee was just okay.
All in all, I would definitely go back. The reviews were fairly sketchy and I was quite skeptical of the place, but I was pleasantly pleased. The only true negative is parking. Nothing worse than clock watching so you don't have an expired meter. Service was very good. A younger lady waited on us and did a fantastic job I thought for all of us. If you are whiskey drinker, you may have died and gone to heaven. I bet they have at least...
Read moreEverything about our experience was lovely. We had made reservations for 6 and an extra person was brought along and the hostess did a wonderful job accommodating our party. I also felt the menu you was reasonably priced.
Service was amazing. Marvin did such a wonderful job with the timing of food, drinks, and making sure everyone was well taken care of. It was my mom’s birthday and they brought out freshly made cinnamon donuts and ice cream for the table to share. They were amazing. Our server really made me mom feel so loved and special.
For appetizers we ordered meatballs, bread and olive plate, and cheese bread. Of the three I would recommend the meatballs first. They were big, moist, and the sauce served with them was nice. The bread plate was also really nice. The cheese bread was average. Nothing I would rave about.
For dinner I ordered the brisket rigatoni which was lovely. I really enjoyed the depth of the sauce. My brother got chicken Marsala and that was also very well made. They do Italian classics very well here. It was like recommend for gatherings, specifically because of the big round tables. It makes dinner together...
Read moreA group of us had a pre-theater dinner at D'Amato's. It was great. Our server Alex, was engaging and full of informative about what to eat or not. One of my gauges for good service is how attentive the wait and bus staff are to empty or almost empty water glasses. My glass and the glasses of my dining companions were perfectly attended to throughout our meal. The Italian Wedding Soup was tasty with flavorful chicken meatballs. The broth was light and perfectly seasoned. I ordered the fettuccini alfredo with italian sausage. The pasta was cooked to absolute perfection. The Sauce Alfredo was light and flavorful. It did not suffer a heavy hand of salt, garlic, pepper or nutmeg that I have encountered in so many other Sauce Alfredo. I liked the fact that rather than just presenting the sausage on a side plate, the sausage was sliced and served in the dish. My other dining companions enjoyed their meals and all seemed to be members of the clean plate club. If you are looking for a great Italian meal by all means you should remember D'Amatos...
