Sunday, 2/09/2025 - Tried "Sunny Side Breakfast & Asian Fusion" in mid town Sacramento for lunch today. Address is 1221 19th St, Sacramento, CA 95811. It is paid street parking, unless you're lucky and you find a 2 hr visitor parking. I wasn't lucky. My friends were lucky. There's no reservation available. It's first come first serve. We were 8th on the wait list. This little restaurant was pretty busy. Every table was full. Upon arrival....
Pros
Cons
Conclusion This was a very cute little restaurant. They are pretty busy and didn't check in with us after delivering us our foods. But the foods were good, bathroom clean, and they didn't rush us to get out when we were catching up and celebrating a birthday. Parking was a little hard for me. But my friends found parking. I like this little spot and...
Read moreMIL brought me here as a birthday treat around 10:30am on a Thursday (no wait). 2-top and we ordered the unagi omurice and Korean burger. Unagi omurice was super flavorful and you get a big piece of eel. Korean burger was massive and MIL was in love with the potato wedges. Refills were prompt on drinks. The restaurant and bathrooms were clean.
Only issue is that our food did not come out together. We received the burger 10-15min before the omurice. My MIL nearly finished her meal before I received mine, and when we had asked the waitress if the rice was still on its way she seemed annoyed and just said "it's coming" (no apology for the wait or a time estimate). I would understand if it was during a rush or if it was a big party, but it was a Thursday with maybe half the restaurant sat and only 2 people at our table. We also had to flag our waitress down to get our bill. I've worked in the service industry for 10+ years and if this had happened at any of my tables I would have let my table know that there was a wait for the second meal when I dropped the first plate off and also apologized for the wait and comped the...
Read moreWent for Sunday brunch and it was very busy but our party of 3 only waited 15-20m which wasn’t bad given there were several small parties before us. Cute industrial vibe inside and got a nice window spot. Server was visibly rushed but helpful with suggestions and good about checking on our table throughout service. We split everything three ways to just try things out. Avocado toast was delicious combo of flavors: avo, strawberry, tomato, sesame, pickled onion. Scrumptious. Then we split the lemon ricotta pancake, flavor was in the pancake and not overwhelming, just right, with nice MIs of fruit on side. We all kept taking bites in between our savory dishes. The Crispy Chicken Benedict w potatoes was a table favorite along with the unagi tornado. I’m not big on fish but did love the ginger rice, sauce, and egg combo on the tornado. The Korean burger was mid, nothing great, nothing bad, just a decent burger. From our sampling we cleared all the plates and will definitely come back to try...
