As other Google reviewers have already mentioned, "The Cabin" is definitely a cozy spot. It also gives you that feeling as if you are tucked away in the woods surrounded by pine trees, a large dusting of snow, cold air, and grizzly bears. But since Midtown Sacramento doesn't incorporate any of those things, they brought all of that packed in this unique bar. Located directly on 21st St. and in between L St. & Capitol Ave., The Cabin has been in business since early-2019. This place has very generous hours of operation being opened Monday through Thursday from 3pm-2am and Friday through Sunday from 12pm-2am. Keep in mind that this place is strictly a bar as they do not serve food of any kind. They do however have a sizable indoor area (that I'll get into later) while constructing a very large wooden outdoor patio area sometime in 2020 since many businesses were forced to only serve menu items outdoors due to the pandemic. But the interior to this place is the real winner. All of the walls surrounding this place are of real logs that truly give you that authentic 'cabin' feel to it. Additionally, there is a river-rock fireplace towards the entrance, taxidermy that is evident, classic old-school picture frames, redwood countertops, lantern-style light fixtures, and much of the furniture throughout all being handmade. Even the staff were wearing plaid shirts with a drink menu that felt as if I were in the lone woods with wolves howling in the distant horizon. The service is great here as I was helped within minutes; even during my most recent visit during the evening of Saturday 5/28/2022 at around 10:30pm. They serve a least 8 different beers on tap while including an eclectic assortment of house cocktails. This includes a few of their popular libations including the "Cabin Mule", "Gimme S'more", "Sweater Weather", and "Deer in the Headlights". Everything is executed very well and this is as close to the Rocky Mountains as you will get, at least in Sacramento. All in all, "The Cabin" is an excellent bar with plenty of seating area inside and out. The vintage amber-colored lighting gives you that old, nostalgic feel to it. There is, however only one restroom (that is gender optional) so it can be a bit of a wait especially during the late night hours. With that said and done, I am going to give The Cabin in Midtown Sacramento a respectable four-star rating.

Walking by outside I heard the music playing, and I looked up and wanted to see what the patio was all about. Asked the friendly bartender Jon Eric, who had to set the record straight for me. Turns out there is not a patio, it’s only an office upstairs. I asked about it, and while I sat there with my one beer, another pair of possible patrons asked me about the patio and I told them the next establishment had one. Then before I left, another set of people asked Jon how to access the patio and he had to tell them they were also mistaken. The cabin is a rustic and woods-esque experience with fun cocktails and a tasty beer selection, but without an outdoor patio I feel I’d just stay for a single round. Besides the booze, friendly folks like Jon make it all worth it!

Their 'pint' glasses were a wee bit small. Sneaky guys, sneaky. Nice and comfy camping/lodge decor so they are going for a homey Canadian outdoorsy look inside. However the music is loud so you have to yell a bit to be heard so maybe not so much comfortable and cozy but the decor is still cool. the electric fireplace is a nice touch. Has become a popular late night bar spot in sac for midtown residents not looking for a sports bar. Bartender poured a 12 oz beer can into a 'pint' glass that they use for draft beer when we ordered a panic IPA and it suspiciously filled the glass haha. He tried to tell us that it was a standard size for sac bars. Sorry dude not true. Quite dog friendly inside Which is awesome! But just be ware of the loud music on pup ears.

Cool venue to grab an adult beverage. The theme of being in a cabin is on point.

They had numerous themed drinks, all priced at $10 each, and on Sundays they have a reverse happy hour from 7pm-2am if you prefer well drinks or domestic beers.

My party of 4 each tried a different drink. All were tasty, but if have to say that the Cabin Mule was the best. We agreed that it may have been the best Mule we've collectively ever tasted.

Fun venue!

One star docked because: the fire place was broken they were showing some cheesy fire station tv show on the 3 TVs in the bar with volume up. I know the NFC championship game had recently ended, so they must have just not changed the channel yet they only have s'mores kits or spicy nuts to eat on the menu, so there isn't a draw to stick around beyond one...
