I'm surprised I didn't know about this place sooner, but I usually stay to the other side of the river by Harriet Island so it took a detour on a long run to see what was happening and make a plan to go. My daughter and I went for lunch and found ample bike parking outside. Food is counter service, and made in the food truck outside of the building - once you've placed your order and gotten your drinks, you will get paged when your food is ready via one of those fancy flashing pagers. There are a variety of seating options inside as well as on the Riverview balcony. Plenty of games and activities are excellent for keeping kids busy, if possibly not eating. Bean bags, connect 4, Jenga and large chalkboards for writing and drawing on are some of the activities available. The food portions were modest and not a bad value but nothing overwhelming ($12 nachos that were pretty spartan on the claimed bbq pork). The food probably isn't the biggest draw here though, to be honest. A good beer and wine selection, several NA drinks and the location are the real draws here. Definitely would go back, might even bring the dog as they seemed...

I had been to City House many times and enjoyed the chill atmosphere and ability to accommodate groups of various sizes. However, two weeks ago the cashier accidentally charged my card three times in a row. She mistakenly thought the first two charges didn't go through, but they had. Each for a significant amount. When I noticed this, I reached out. City House does not have a phone number, so I submitted a "Contact Us" form on the website asking for a refund on the two additional charges. After no response for multiple days, I stopped by City House in-person. I asked for a refund. The cashier went to ask a manager. He didn't speak with me, but told the cashier to tell me to fill out a "Contact Us" form on the website. I explained I already had done so, but the cashier assured me that the manager would take care of it soon, so I left. A week later, I submitted another "Contact Us" form. No response. I finally just disputed the charges with my credit card company directly. I am just super disappointed in the customer service from City House for a fix that shouldn't have been difficult, but even more so for the lack of...

Great views but I ordered to go and got treated like an inconvenience. Then when I didn’t add a tip the young guy scoffed and didn’t speak the rest of the interaction. I said thank you, have a good one and he looked the other direction as he handed me my receipt. Message received. I won’t come back. Then the cook sets my food on the counter and walks away without saying anything. So I asked if I could get that to go like I had ordered. He said I could get a box at the bar. I walk back to the bar where I ordered and ask for a box and a bag. He hands me a box to box up my own to go order and says I don’t think we have bags and walked away. Not to mention the food was cooked in a truck outside and looks like frozen food warmed up! Do these people not want to stay...

The location is great, right on the Mississippi River. Always looks busy, people drinking, playing corn hole, dog friendly. The bar looked very inviting and was very busy. The food is a different thought altogether. A simple chip doesn't need to be over fried. The burger was lacking flavor, and the chicken sandwich should be taken off the menu. The chicken itself was about 1/8 thick at best and, again, over fried to remove any amount of moisture it once had. The cheese curds are your standard frozen and fried variety, nothing great. The only thing worth consuming was the strawberry sauce they add to the cheese curds. Price was a little high, considering you ordered online and picked up your own food at the food truck window. Cleanup is left upon the patrons' discretion.

I would say they had some nice food choices. A little bland for me tho. Had to clean my own table as no one else was doing it. The kitchen is separated from where you buy your drinks. Which means two separate lines with two separate bills to pay. It was very busy but a lot of seating. You have to find street parking and go down some stairs. There may have been some other parking further away so someone needing access with wheelchair would have a distance to travel there. The balcony overseeing the river was nice tho.

I've been here twice for drinks and snacks. You order at the counter and receive drinks, but pick up food at the food truck out front. Food wait times are pretty normal and we've gone on busy weekend evenings. The patio has a great view of the Mississippi River. We bike here since it's on a trail along the river, so I'm not sure about parking. They have table games at some tables, and when there isn't a reserved party, they have oversize connect-4, and bags too. Overall, fun spot to visit.
