I am seriously considering not returning to this Steak n Shake. I have been there a few times during the dinner rush and I've yet to be happy when I left. At least tonight the line wasn't so long and I didn't wait an additional ten minutes to get my order. However, I ordered a number five, a single and a double burger with a bowl of chili and a double bacon cheeseburger with a bowl of chili and what happened was I was asked to repeat myself twice, then I was asked "what's on the burger? " which annoyed me. I thought I'm staring at their pictures so why doesn't he know what's on the burgers? Then I thought, well I guess, the title is single or double, nothing fancy. But when I asked him why he was asking he explained that all of the burgers came plain unless otherwise specified and also wanted to know what I wanted on the BACON DOUBLE CHEESEBURGER! Maybe it's just me but aren't the components of that in the name? Also, I feel like, if the item is pictured that way it should automatically come the way it is pictured unless you ask for an item to be left out. Maybe they should just have a build your own burger. The worker was audibly annoyed as well. Other places have more straight forward menus, faster service and friendlier staff. I passed one on the way to Steak n Shake. They sell the same style burgers, have a better menu, and aren't complicated. They're called Freddy's. They are a bit pricier but it may be worth it. Went back to this Steak N' Shake tonight, February 18, 2022. Same service with a 45 minute wait....

This one is nearest to our home and both my boys love this place and if it wasn’t for the atrocious service we would gladly go. I swore off SNS about 6 months ago only to break down to take my youngest tonight. We walked in and they had 11 tables that were not bused and they only had 6 tables in the place with customers. We waited 5 minutes to be seated and waited another 8 minutes for someone to finally come up and take our drink order. Instead of giving them our drink order we decided to leave and head to Culver’s. During our 13 minutes we watched as 3 different couples walk in and do an about face and leave. Hopefully management can figure out how to instill pride and work ethic in their employees. Read moreThey had me go through the drive-thru even though I ordered on their app and once I got to the window they told me to pull into the parking spot I waited about 20 minutes and then I couldn't go inside because of the coronavirus they didn't answer the phone number that's on the parking spot that you're supposed to call if you want to do a pick up order so then I had to walk up to the drive-thru window and get their attention and they said that they would bring it right out I waited another 20 minutes had to go back to the window again and they finally said they'd bring it out and then a couple minutes later they brought it to me and I told them it was unacceptable that I had to wait almost an hour for two milkshakes and a double steak burger and fries I apologize but they didn't offer to do anything or maybe to hook me up with something for waiting so long I mean there was times where there's nobody in the Drive-Thru and they could have...
