I previously had left a positive review for Paprika because their food was good, however I have no choice but to change it based upon my experience today.
We ordered delivery today and after an hour it hadn’t arrived. We called, and were told by the owner that the driver had already picked it up for delivery, and that he would call the driver to check the status of our food and call us back. We’re literally a block away but working so opted for delivery.
Another half an hour passed and we heard nothing so we called back. This time we were told that the food was waiting to be picked up by the driver. So which is it? Was the food picked up by the driver or not?
Either way it was clear they were being dishonest to us and as opposed to just apologizing for the mistake (literally they never once said they were sorry, nor did they offer any kind of refund) they just kept lying about the situations around the delay.
I ultimately ended up going myself to pick up the food roughly over an hour and 45 minutes after we ordered. When I arrive I still didn’t get an apology from the owner, only more lies about why the food was never delivered. This is REALLY sad because we’ve eaten from here a lot but won’t again in the future.
So let it be a lesson that when you can’t be bothered to apologize, and you’re dishonest with your customers you get bad reviews and lose...
Read moreAfter a couple of trips, it's time for a review! Okay so what I've tried so far has been interesting, and I would like to try more items.
With this recent trip, I had met with a friend and his girlfriend. They had moved here from New Orleans, and apparently there are a lot of middle eastern places there, but few spots here in the north shore. They were delighted to stop here. This last visit I got the lamb burger. I'm not big on lamb, but holy sh*t this was good!
Last visit I ordered the chicken adana wrap. The veggies were crisp and fresh, and the chicken had a very nice flavor to it. The overall flavor was mellow but not bland. It's listed at being spicey, I presume because of the red pepper but I am inclined to disagree.
I am excited to see a place in the north shore area offering things like fresh baba ganoush, hummus, and stuffed grape leaves. Looking forward to trying these out in the future.
The restaurant is this little hole in the wall on Liberty street. It is nice because it is in a quiet area, but I fear people are missing out because they do not know it is here since it is not visible from the foot traffic on Derby street. The staff are warm and welcoming, and the service is fairly quick. The space is utilized appropriately with the...
Read moreThis Turkish/Mediterranean food is absolutely INCREDIBLE!!!! They have the best Baba Ganoush I have ever had. I also had the opportunity to try a new dish- Lamdni (sp?). It is yogurt with walnuts, lemon, & dill. I was going to order a side of feta to go with it, but the owner suggested that I do not because the two would not go well together. I ordered the feta to go with the Baba Ganoush, but (of course) tried it with the Lamdni...he was 100% correct!
I also ordered the Spicy Chicken Adena wrap (which you get to customize)- the flavoring the SPECTACULAR! So amazing, in fact, that I was willing to try my husband's. You see, he ordered the lamb wrap. I usually do NOT like lamb, well, I have NEVER like lamb- it is just too 'gamey' for me...but after tasting mine I had a feeling and I was not disappointed! The lamb was OUTSTANDING! Tender, juicy, flavorful- definitely NOT gamey. He got the Lamb Adena. When I asked (I had never heard the term "Adena" before), the gentleman explained that Adena was the City in Turkey that he was from and that was how they prepared their meat. Usually with a little more fat, but he said Americans tend to watch that a little more.😂
Very friendly and informative!! Highly recommend and just sorry I couldn't talk him into...
