I booked this tour for the night of Halloween months in advance. I had been saving up for this trip for a long time as it has always been a dream of mine to visit Salem in the fall. Unfortunately, both of my pets passed away to illness and I had to cancel my trip due to unexpected vet bills. I tried to reach out via phone over a month before the tour to let SNT know I would be unable to attend, and the person who answered was quite rude and refused to even speak to me at all in order to explain why I was calling. He told me to email back the no-reply address from my receipt if I wanted to discuss the details of my booking (I confirmed multiple times with the person that they were referring to the no-reply address, which usually means my message will go to a nonexistent inbox, never to be seen). I did so, and never received a reply, as expected. At this point, I have no way of even giving up my spot for another person, let alone requesting any kind of credit or refund. I was already grieving the loss of both of my pets, and SNT furthered the stress I was facing at a time where they could have simply communicated with me and helped me, at the very least, cancel my reservation. I am very disappointed with the level of customer service I received and will not be rebooking with SNT in the future when I am finally able to save up for a trip again. If the person answering phones is this rude, I can't imagine the rest of the staff...
Read moreWe did a 7 PM Night Tour on a beautiful Sunday night in October 2022. Sebastian was our tour guide — and he was superb! Very dynamic. Very into the paranormal and delved deeply into the history of the Salem area. He had the ideal background for this role (has studied acting in college, not to mention demonology and the like!!). Very engaging. Tremendously enthusiastic. And probed us often for questions. I liked that he gave us ideas for follow-on engagements to actually get into some of the buildings or walk the related locations that we walked by or were discussed during the tour. You can actually get inside individual select locations and investigate with other tours apparently. And the location of the former gallows are 1-2 miles away that can also be visited on your own if you are into that sort of thing. During the walk, you will visit 5 or 6 locations for ~10 minutes apiece …. Some homes … some restaurants… some office buildings! Don’t expect to see ghosts or get touched, so set your expectations realistically. This is not a Ghost hunt - it’s a dramatic discussion of sites reported to be haunted. It’s the ideal add-on to any night out in Salem. We took out-of-town guests to the 1692 Witch Museum first to give the basic background of the Salem witch trials …. that is a good precursor to this Ghost Tour that will help tie some threads together. Sebastian gets high marks — he was very fun and...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I are visiting Salem from California, and were very excited to do a ghost tour. To our disappointment, we ended up in a group of 32 people. Our tour guide, Ben, expressed to us that 3 separate groups of 9 people booked and the organizers assumed it was a glitch. Needless to say, all 27 people showed up and were not dispersed amongst the 3 tour groups evenly. A large portion of our tour was Ben trying to keep the group together. Our group was so large, we were rushed through smaller stops so everyone could have the opportunity to see. We didn’t get nearly enough time to look at these historical sites or get pictures as we had hoped. This was not our tour guide’s fault whatsoever, and he did the best he could with the group he was given. I’ve been on numerous ghost tours in paranormal cities and have never been in a group this large. Had I known this was a possibility, I wouldn’t have booked. Extremely disappointed we wasted our time and money on this tour. We left a review on Viator and received an unprofessional and bitter response from the host, who clearly did not take the time to read my review as they didn’t even get our group number correct in their response. As a business owner, you’d think they’d be able to take...
