I will say the pizza was really delicious. My family and I got 3 large pizzas and only 3 pieces were left (party of 12)! Since they have a covid policy of no more than 6 per party, we had to sit at different tables. Luckily, there happened to be 2 next to each other. My husband and I walked in and said there would be ANOTHER group of 10 meeting us (my parents, brother, sister and her family of 7). The woman at the door explained to us about the size situation which we obliged and she sat us. We were also left with a list of instructions: No talking to the table next to you No sharing food/cake/drinks No transferring food from one table to another No switching tables 2 beers per person
There were others I don’t remember.
We laughed about the ridiculous laundry list of regulations they had (fun police, am I right?), but continued chatting and ordered pizza anyways, because Covid is hitting places hard, we get it. My dad got a call from my brother who was outside the restaurant, saying the woman at the door WOULDN’T LET HIM IN!! Myself and brother-in-law went to see what the heck was happening since my brother was the 12th person in our party, with 2 tables equals 6 per table, following rules. The woman claimed I had said there were ten people and one of the tables we had was only to have 4 chairs. I had clearly told her it was an additional group. I explained that to her, she admitted she misunderstood, but offered no solution other than moving us to 4 tables scattered around the restaurant. Seriously? What’s a 2 chair difference? Another woman came to see what was going on and said no, the table was actually suited for 6 and my brother was welcome to come in. Great! I wish I would have gotten her name to thank her.
So, the pizza arrives and since we couldn’t share food between tables, we had to figure out who was going to actually get to eat the pizza. We ended up having the employee bringing the pizza half them between the 2 tables (she got a generous tip). Really though? My sister had to sneak to get her 4 year old a slice.
Now, between 4 adults, we finished a pitcher of beer (1 beer a piece), so my brother-in-law went to buy another one (which would have then made it 2 beers a piece, following rules). The lady at the counter argued with him he could not buy another pitcher because he already had 2 glasses. He tried to explain again and she denied him anyway. My sister didn’t have any drinks and went to explain the situation AGAIN and the lady finally agreed she was wrong.
The pizza was good though. Now we know where the Fun Police...
Read moreUsed to be a great place, I once worked there but when I checked the place out again to look at the games and stuff as I brought friends and family we didn't see much to do in the games area as most of the games were shut down. The laser tag and mini golf is still fun though, the food isn't the best but it's better than some other places I could think of. I miss when this place was thriving and had tons of really cool games to play without sign everywhere saying they're out of service. It's sad seeing that, it was part of my childhood and I'll never forget the good days there and even when I worked there too. I miss the old crew I worked with and Ray, great people. I've only seen maybe a couple faces I recognized but that was it, but when I went in I don't think they noticed me so who knows if they remember. I'd say as of the neighborhood and the fact that I've found drugs in the bathrooms before I wouldn't say it's quite kid friendly, although I feel like Salem in general is becoming that way considering my line of work now. Anyway, sorry for the long read. TLDR: It used to be a great place but due to my recent experience, lots of stuff was out of order and just overall made the experience not as good as I'd have liked it to be. The food is alright, it's not the worst but I have seen better. So I'd say I'm neutral on the food. Can't say it's exactly kid friendly, due to the environment around the place and in the...
Read moreThis is the 3rd time in the last 3 or so years I've been here for a birthday party or event and more then half their games are not working or eat your tokens. Each time I've gone more and more of their games are out of order. It's like they just leave them or move them to the side and choose not to fix them. While I was there today the virtual roller coaster ride/game was working in the beginning and then about half way threw our party I stopped working... and it's 8 tokens, so $2. My kids didn't inform me until we were home that they each put tokens in it (my younger one put 2 rounds of tokens in so 16..$4..) and it didn't work. It was almost impossible to get to a worker for any kind of help for anything. Also only two of the ticket counting machines worked so both had very long lines. It ended up taking well over an hour for 2 of us to stand in line to count 3 kids tickets. Last time we went I felt like it was still worth it a bit because the ticket prices for prizes were still good even if they had alot of broken games... but this time it was even more broken games and even working games stealing tokens or not giving tickets and their prizes went way up in tickets. I will not go back here unless I hear about a big change in their game maintenance atleast!! Huge bummer because this place could...
