Blue Bay Seafood — Restaurant in Salisbury

I called the east Innes St, Blue Bay and requested information on shellfish allergies. My husband is not able to eat fish if it’s fried the same grease the lady who answered the phone at 7:22 PM on 9/15 stated she was sure they could accommodate that. I clearly asked her if she could get confirmation from the people in the kitchen just so I can make sure because I did not want my husband ending up going to the hospital. The girl put the phone down and put on her breath to a Co Worker this damn woman don’t believe what I’m saying and further told her the question I had she got back on the phone as I was angry at this point, and I informed her that I overheard what was said and I would not be ordering from their store and I hung up on her my husband call Back requesting to speak to the owner Tommy. The girl asked what it was in reference to. We informed her that we wanted to speak with the manager, she put a lady on the phone, who stated she was over the front end. My husband replied to her as well. We would like to speak to the manager, the owner Tommy they further stated Tommy asked what it was in reference to after we told the worker we prefer to speak to him about our concern. She further stated to say he was not going to take the call if he did not know what it was pertaining to because he was too busy in the kitchen cooking. We left our name and number which we are sure we probably will not get a phone call back. I spoke to the other blue bay on Statesville blvd and asked that manager to give Tommy our name and number for a return call. We are highly mad about this!!! We will never eat here again! Overall the experience wasn’t horrible. When I tell you it was the worst steak I’ve ever eaten I’m not being dramatic. I ordered the 8?oz ribeye with popcorn shrimp, a side salad, baked potato, and fried okra. The fried okra which the waitress said was the best part actually were which is kinda sad, and I should’ve noted that more, but her service up until giving me the food was great. She never came back and I had to actually go get her to pay. The dressing on the salad tasted watery and lacking flavor, the shrimp lacked flavor and even the cocktail sauce had no heat and little flavor to it. I see a bunch of good reviews on here but I didn’t have that experience last night. Then all together 29 dollars for that is a little expensive for a family seafood restaurant. I would’ve been more happy going to Waffle House and gotten a better steak with just salt and pepper thrown on it. Needless to say I paid. Another odd thing was it was dead empty in there. I went to another chain restaurant across the street to get an item I’d been craving but the wait was an hour. This is the south where if a family business like that is actually good it’ll be just as packed or more than a place like the chain restaurant. Maybe I’ll go back for lunch and try to get a less expensive meal and try it again but man was I disappointed in spending 35...

My Mother & I ate at Blue Bay last night, seafood was not good quality. The fish tasted bland like farm raised rather than wild caught. Prices of menu items did not bother us, had the food been good but it was not. However, what was disturbing to us were the thuggish looking people...possibly out on work release, that were promptly seated around us and unbusy waitstaff seemed to find this very amusing. We are nice looking, pleasant people with no criminal history and did not find the disrespectful, inhospitable treatment at this restaurant amusing. Obviously, we will not be back there.
