Updated 10/14/2023 Visited last night and once again we weren't disappointed! The place was PACKED!! There were several large parties, but that didn't stop our server treating us as we were his only priority. The overall vibe of the restaurant was loud and exciting. Very much needed after a tough work week. He also let us in on a very cool thing they do. When you order the Fresh Guacamole, your server is the one that makes it for you! So each time your order it, it may taste a touch different if you get another server. Last night we also ordered mixed drinks. We aren't fans of margaritas, so we opted for other cocktails. We were not disappointed at all! Paradise Sunrise and Marijuana were both quite tasty. Hubby had the Steak Fajitas and I chose the Steak Nachos, cause I needed nachos after my crazy day at work.
Wow. Was not expecting the experience we had! Atmosphere was friendly, inviting, and well thought out. I absolutely love the main color of blue on the walls. Our server was outstanding and answered our many questions. For our appetizers we had fresh guacamole and street corn. I have the gene where cilantro taste like soap, so I have to be aware of what I eat with cuisines that utilize cilantro. I’m also not a person who eats guacamole. Well, the hubby told me I needed to taste the guacamole. I did. Minus the soapy flavor, it was really good! I inquired to our server if it was made fresh to order and he said yes, which means when we go back, we can order it without cilantro! The street corn was yummy and very juicy. Our entrees were El Jefe and Steak Nachos. The steak on the nachos had fantastic seasoning and tasted great with the cheese sauce and chips. The El Jefe was a very large serving. The shrimp and steak were seasoned well and grilled perfectly. The fresco cheese added a nice bite with the rice, corn, and beans. The corn wasn’t dry and the beans were good, different, but good. Can’t say much about the pico, as it’s not something we choose to eat. We will be back to try other things...

My fish tacos were dry. They did not have the chipotle sauce described on the menu. The “sauce” I later received on the side by request tasted like mayonnaise sprinkled with sparse dry seasonings. I requested lime slices instead which was better. The tacos weren’t anything to write home about, and included basic ingredients: fried tilapia strips, some cabbage slices, a bit of chopped cilantro and diced tomatoes, and queso fresco sprinkled on top. I didn’t taste any sweet, salty or acidic flavors, and the only fat came from the oil from the fish fry.
I called ahead to ask if they served fresh, homemade flour tortillas. (They do not have handmade fresh flour tortillas but they do say they have handmade corn tortillas). I asked several times- they’re fresh? They’re handmade in house? They are handmade FLOUR tortillas, NOT corn tortillas? They assured me the flour tortillas were handmade. Upon arrival I asked two more people, who also said the flour tortillas were handmade. However, their body language suggested otherwise. I felt hesitant but decided to trust them.
I accepted a seat from our server and my family in from the car. I asked the server about the tortillas and she clarified that they do NOT have handmade flour tortillas. The adults ordered different dishes so we would have handmade corn tortillas.
Another adult did not care for their food saying it lacked flavor, and didn’t taste seasoned. The children did not like their cheese quesadillas, saying they tasted bitter. I’m not sure what kind of cheese they used. We did not receive drinks for the kids meals.
The salsa tastes like it has canned ingredients, and the beans taste like puréed and thinned canned refried beans.
The kids did like the rice and the cheese dip is a standard white cheese dip— these two things, along with a helpful server, elevated my review to 2 stars instead of 1 star. I recommend trying...

Now, let's talk about the food. I personally had the seafood cocktail and it was amazingly flavorful! The freshness can be tasted in every spoonful! My friend however, went with traditional chicken fajita. The chicken was slightly interesting because some of the pieces were chewy and crunchy at the same time. Indicating that it was definitely not fresh or poor cut of the chicken sections. The flavor and vegetables were great though!
And the margaritas? They were a true highlight and extremely large! The bartenders at ¡UNA MAS! are clearly masters of their craft. The margaritas were expertly mixed, striking that perfect balance between tartness and sweetness. Sipping on one of their signature margaritas was a treat I won't soon forget. The service was impeccable as well.
The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about the food they served. They were more than happy to offer recommendations and accommodate dietary preferences, making the dining experience even more enjoyable.
