Cook Out — Restaurant in Salisbury

Person that came to help eventually did not greet me, I apologized and said, "I'm sorry but I only got two onion rings with my order?" They just looked at me. I responded with, "can you please help me with that?" She let go of the window while I was still talking and stalked away.

Other employees inside laughing, and locking eyes with me. (With that behavior I decided to ask for a refund when the service person came back. It didn't feel right to eat there anymore)

When the person came back, I requested a refund. They made a show of walking halfway away from the trash can and tossed it in. And said, "I don't have time for this mess today,"

All because I asked for a refund.

So I requested to speak to a manager and they responded with that they are a manager and that the General manager was right there too. So I asked to speak to the general manager. Well, it turns out the person that I locked eyes with, that walked away yelling service was closed while laughing, was the General manager. When I told him what happened he said "I was making too much of a deal, and I shouldn't have assumed they were laughing at me." How else was I supposed to see it? And I asked for a refund because I've seen the stories of what people do to customer food when they don't like the customer. He again said u shouldn't have assumed and they gave me my food what else did I expect?

Said I, "made too big of a deal," and that they were done talking to me and slammed the service window door again.

Needless to say, according to this restaurant asking to be treated a little better and to be a nicer human was too much. They had to give me all the attitude, and rudeness. I worked in service industry. I know how tough it can be and how people can be unappreciated. I thought I asked kindly. But I was definitely NOT treated kindly or anything. My first time going to this cookout and my last.

Tdlr: original order only gave me 2 onion rings so I asked for help with that and got an extremely rude response. The way they acted and the things they said were extremely unprofessional, and unfriendly. I will never go to this location again.

3-4 yrs ago, this place was 5 stars! Now.. It does NOT deserve any stars!! The great grilled cookout food that once was worth every penny they charged, is now not worthy of 1 rusty penny!! I had heard others talk about how "Cook Out" had changed & downgraded the food they serve. But.. Yesterday I decided I wanted a big juicy homemade grilled burger, like backyard grilled cookout style burger! And usually or yrs past, it was worth every penny they wanted to charge. As most consumers, we don't mind paying just alit'l more for something that's worth the money! And yesterday was no different, except I was mentally, physically & heat exhausted from a funeral. All I wanted was good food & to go home. And that is exactly what I thought I'd do.. After getting home, the dress clothes were finally done for & it was burger time! I almost cried when I opened my food!! A "Big Double" was nowhere to be found! I received 2 patties, that looked like 1 pattie torn in half! (Burger King, McDonald's & Wendy's burgers are hugh in comparison & I don't eat at any of these places) The slaw & chili was hardly even visible.. I wanted to call them but better yet, I wanted to drive back up there! By this time & after all I'd already been through, that just wasn't the thing for me to do. Instead I just tossed it out & moved on to something else in the house. I am completely done with Cook Out!! If this is what they've reduced their brand to, then I won't bother to give them any more of my money!!! Why would you, Cook Out, reduce yourself to this? Regardless of any situation or "pandemic"! Never the less, I won't be going back! And I'm just trying to warn any of you whom haven't eaten here in awhile. Do NOT waste your money here! Just toss it out the window instead.. You'll receive more satisfaction than driving here & receiving this kind of disappointment!!!! Shame on you...

Hey, yall, I hate to have to post such a negative post regarding the experience I had 6 days ago because I have always enjoyed Cookout in Salisbury, NC. I've always been a very loyal customer, & usually will stop & grab something to eat through the drive thru almost every time I'm in Salisbury. But, the experience that I had this time when I stopped to grab dinner at Cookout was extremely upsetting!!!😡 The service was truly great, & very fast, actually, but the food, on the other hand, was absolutely terrible!😳 🤢🤮😭 I ordered some kind of cheeseburger with: Bacon, BBQ Sauce, Onions, & Tomatoes, A small French fry, & A Cheerwine Float. When I received my food & Cheerwine float, They apparently forgot to put the vanilla ice cream in with the Cheerwine because it tasted like a very old, & and flat Cheerwine soda that's been opened, & forgotten about in the refrigerator for weeks! It was just - flat out, DISGUSTING!!!!! I was way too tired and ready to get on home because I had my little boy with me, and we in Cleveland, NC. Which is about 30 minutes from Salisbury, so I didn't really get too upset enough to turn around with the "Cheerwine float." I went to take a bite of my burger once I got on the interstate, headed home, and it was a PLAIN HAMBURGER, with nothing on it, not even cheese, & the couple of frys I did have in the bottom of the bag was burnt to a crisp. By this time, I was almost home. So I didn't turn around to go back. It was not worth it to me. I just hate that this happened. I most likely will not be returning for takeout or for anything at all...
