Cato Fashions — Local services in Salisbury

Brought my mother and teen daughter here to purchase dresses for my aunt’s funeral. I had looked online before coming to see what dresses were available in store for pickup in their sizes. I had taken screen shots of the dresses for them to try. I wanted to make the process easier for my mom especially.

We located the first dress right away, but they didn’t have my daughter’s size. A few moments later the sales lady came and I showed her my pictures. They didn’t have the dress for my mom at all…in any sizes. She asked if I had selected the “in store” option on the site and I advised I did and had selected this location.

She was very helpful with finding outfits for my mom though. We couldn’t find a dress mom liked, but found some slacks and a blouse that looked very nice on her. My daughter went about looking for herself and found the perfect dress on her own.

I have forgotten the associate’s name, but she has been at this store forever! She is always helpful and patient, especially this trip given the circumstances. She checked on us while we were changing to be sure no size substitutions were needed, offered suggestions, and gave positive feedback. All this despite having a store with other shoppers and her being the ONLY person working. I listened while my daughter browsed through the shoes and jewelry for accessories to her dress, and the other ladies were saying the same appreciation for the customer service assistance.

I could give the store a 3 for not having any of the dresses promised online. I also could give the store a 5 due to the amazing customer service we received. She saved the day to help us purchase other options. The...

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Cher at Cato. After struggling with recent health issues that caused me to gain 30 pounds rather quickly, I’ve been feeling incredibly uncomfortable in my own skin. Shopping has become a painful experience, and just yesterday I came home from a failed attempt in tears — nothing fit, and I felt defeated.

Today, I decided to try again, and I am so thankful I walked into Cato and met Cher. From the moment we walked in, she greeted us warmly and immediately offered to help. She didn’t just hand me clothes — she asked thoughtful questions, really listened, and carefully selected pieces that would flatter me and make me feel good. She truly has a gift for styling and made what felt like an impossible task completely manageable.

Cher spent over 30 minutes with me — helping me with outfits, accessories, and even jewelry. But what meant the most was her kindness, patience, and genuine enthusiasm. When I stepped out in a full outfit feeling confident again — something I hadn’t felt in a long time — I was overwhelmed with gratitude.

I thanked her, and true to her humble nature, she brushed it off and said it was simply her job. But let me tell you — Cher went way above and beyond. Her compassion and dedication truly made a difference in my life today. She didn’t just help me find an outfit — she helped me find a piece of myself again.
