EDIT* I am so pleased today!! Not only did I receive a response from my most recent review I was emailed by Brenna, Randy's wife. Randy contacted me today and was so deeply sorry about what happened this past weekend. Randy and his wife both are what being restaurant owners embodies. Randy was kind and so very caring. I was not expecting the kindness and understanding that Randy exhibited. I can honestly say I have never received a response quite like this. I did not want to delete my previous post because I wanted everyone to know how much different I now feel after being contacted. My husband and I will be going back to Burnish and we are excited for a long lasting relationship with Randy ,Brenna and Burnish!!!!! Thank you both again for being amazing owners that truly care about the wellbeing of their patrons!!!!!
I am sad to have to put a negative review in but unfortunately the management at this establishment needs to be held accountable. My husband and I decided to have a light lunch and drink here on our way home from shopping. We have been here many times before and the experience was very nice. The weather was nice on Saturday October 25th at about 2pm when we arrived and we asked to be seated outside. The hostess was great and sat us on the right side at a high top right inside the gate . There were several baseball teams there and we enjoyed that as we have kids and grandkids. The afternoon was going very well. I was engaged in conversation with my husband and i was hit extremely hard in the side of my head with a football. I was so shaken, my husband who is a paramedic was extremely concerned. He told the boy in no uncertain terms they were done playing around us. Now this football came from the left side of the outdoor part of the restaurant. The waitress was informed of the incident and reported it to the general manager who never showed his face to see if I was ok. We stayed a bit longer although I had a severe headache and my husband was not sure if I needed to go to the ER just to ensure everything was ok. We decided to inside the restaurant to speak to the manager as this was very disturbing. After waiting about 10 minutes he finally came to speak to us. He was aware of the incident and stated that he tries not to work when these groups come in because it is always a hassle. I asked him why a while after this incident occurred he say the boys again playing ball and came out on the left side of the restaurant and motioned the boys to come over to our side to continue playing. When he did this the boys headed to our side and my husband said you will not come over here. My serious concern is that if this had turned into a serious injury the restaurant would be accountable and you have a very disengaged General Manger that needs to be let go. if this had been an elderly patron that was seriously injured where would Burnish be? You charge $75.00 if a dog destroys property but you do nothing when a patron is injured due to the lack of responsibility by someone running your restaurant. Randy we paid our bill and left our amazing server Caeleigh a nice tip. it would be nice to hear from you since i know you came from EVO and did an amazing job there. I can assure you this would have not happened at EVO but if it did it would have been made right. All I can say is please be extremely careful if going to this establishment due to to the extreme lack of...
Read moreMy wife and I have been to Burnish many times since they opened and up to recently our experiences there have been good. As a result, we've met and have taken friends there, as well meeting their for business. But the last several times it seems like they're simply going through the motions. Several weeks back my wife and I sat at the bar. The bar wasn't packed, nor was it empty. We sat for 10 minutes with neither of two females behind the bar acknowledging we were there. We then got up and moved to a table to get service. Since then, my wife and I have been back, but not together. She with co-workers, me meeting a friend. Yesterday late afternoon the wife and I went back together. We sat at a high top. Our young female server was pleasant. When our plates and utensils were brought out, one of the two plates was filthy. Food from a past meal was clearly crusted on it. We pointed it out to our server. She apologized, and brought a clean plate. The plate was so covered with crud it should have been noticed before ever reaching the table. I ordered a BYO pizza with pepperoni and mushroom. The mushrooms came from a can and the cook forgot to put pepperoni on the pie. When I pointed this out to our server, she assured me she put pepperoni on the ticket, and explained they have young staff back in the kitchen. Motivated by the lack of service we received that visit when we sat at the bar, I observed the staff while waiting for our food. It's a young staff. At least on this visit, I observed that when they're not taking orders or delivering food, they all congregate by one end of the bar and chat, many with their backs to their customers. Also when many greet new customers they don't smile. Burnish has one super star employee. I can't recall his name at the moment, but he's in his mid-20s or so and I think he just got married to one of the managers there. He has been on point and extremely friendly every time we have been there. Even when he's not our server, he makes a point of coming over to our table to shake hands and say hi with a big smile. He gets it. It seems like the others don't. Our last couple experiences have left my wife and I with a feeling of indifference about Burnish. In fact when we walked out last night I told my wife I think I'm done with Burnish. Which is a shame, because I know from my experiences there they can do...
Read moreDecent food, extremely small portions = very poor value. Ordered online was quoted 30 to 40min for pickup. Arrived in 20 minutes because I was on lunch break and food was ready. Drove 10 minutes back to work and food was already ice cold. So much so I'm not sure the chicken taco meat isn't served refrigerated?
The "Spicy Chicken Sandwich with Frittes" should be called a chicken slider with potato chips. The filet is smaller than the palm of my hand, and there was barely any spicy sauce on it (see picture) The roll is brioche looking, but really is a potato roll inside, with it's sickeningly sweet flavor that is too strong and definitely the wrong type of roll for this sandwich. (sandwich was cold)
It's supposed to come with "frittes" which by everyone else's definition is french fries. Perhaps some might argue actually fried potato slices, but they definitely are not supposed to be store brand potato chips. Just to make sure I'm not crazy, I checked Google Translate and no in France potato chips are called "chips". They sprinkled seasoned salt on the top 2 chips (not even mixed throughout). I guess adding seasoned salt somehow justifies the $14 cost of the slider combo?
The Chicken Tacos I got (thank goodness I ordered 2 things in case i didn't like one or the other because otherwise I'd still be hungry) were ice cold as stated above. The flavor and texture was fairly good. No sides come with them. For $7.50 this would have been ok. For $16 it's a complete rip-off. Gosh, you could at least include some rice and beans with it for $16.
So for $32 total, I'm no longer hungry, but I'm definitely not stuffed, and I feel ripped off. Plus now I'm going to be sitting worrying for the next 8 hours or so to see if I develop food poisoning from food...
