I've been to a lot of IHOPs in my time. This was without a doubt the worst experience I've ever had at an IHOP earlier today this morning. I came in sat down tried to order Belgian waffle cuz I wanted the whipped cream you know the strawberry all that stuff with that comes with the Belgian waffle and the waitress talked me into getting the combo great awesome that's what I wanted to I wanted eggs the whipped cream and Belgian waffle and you know and and sausage and hash browns and after 45 minutes go by my waitress nice little young lady tattoos on her arm comes out and says your ticket didn't go through. Something what my ticket didn't go through what do you mean my chicken didn't go through why is everybody else that's been sitting here for 30 minutes or 20 minutes getting all their food and I am still waiting for mine? So another 20 minutes goes by and when my food finally comes out it's a plain waffle and the other breakfast that I wanted the eggs and the hash browns and the sausage but a plain waffle which is not even close to what I wanted. I still left her a $6 tip on $18 order even though she didn't even offer to discount my order, Or call a manager over. I was late for an appointment on top of all of that which is why I didn't stick around and talk to a manager. It didn't seem like it was her first day. At the very least the server should have offered to discount my meal or ask the manager if they could discount my meal. Like I said the worst experience I've ever had in IHOP and I've had lots of very very good experiences at IHOP but not at this one. And if I wasn't in such a big hurry when I left I would have stopped and talked to the manager and brought to their attention the issues that I had to deal with while dining at the restaurant this morning. I mean didn't even make any effort to get the cooks to push it out faster I just had to wait for it to come out and it's regular time after they put the ticket in 45 minutes late. I assumed that she didn't complete one of the steps to put the ticket in and it was her fault that the ticket didn't go through which boggles my mind why she didn't go out of her way to try to make it right since she made the mistake. So extremely disappointing, I was looking forward to a breakfast that I never got and it was never made right for me that's just my experience good luck to everybody else hope it works out...
Read moreUPDATE as of 10/17/25: Service is TERRIBLE, especially if you have "too many bags" with you, or may appear to be "homeless". The manager (bald white man, obviously I don't know his name), kicked myself and my husband and my brother out tonight, after he first told us the wait would be like 30 minutes. He then seated 2 men who came in after us, and came back out and proceeded to tell us that they were actually "closing in 15 minutes" because "their water heater is out." I'm pregnant, and I have health complications, so I do have to carry a lot of bags with me, with my medical supplies in them, among other various things. And we ride bikes, rather than driving a car, because it's cleaner and better for the environment. And even if we are homeless (I live in a women's shelter...), we weren't causing any trouble, we weren't making a scene, we weren't being loud, and we have money. In the land where it's supposedly a Christian nation, we sure run into a lot of people who act like the opposite of how I know Christ would act towards others....Since sitting and writing this, the same manager has allowed 4 more parties of people to come in and be seated. So we were specifically targeted and profiled, simply for "looking homeless"...weird, Jesus probably would look homeless too if he were here....would he be kicked out of iHop as well???
Love the food. Atmosphere is comfortable and quiet. Sometimes the servers act a bit too judge mental towards homeless people, even if they are paying customers, and while I dislike that reaction, I’m not ever truly surprised by it. There is one server who works primarily at night who is not only respectful towards everyone, but is also kind and seems pretty understanding towards others. I wish I could remember her name to give her a shoutout! Next time I eat here, I will ask her what her name is so I can update...
Read moreThis location is in a great spot, but I'll be honest, I wasn't sure that they were open. Although it states they are a 24/7 location, the outside windows have all white vinyl covering them, no advertisements and the sign wasn't on. . .
Inside, this location was far more than I ever thought it was. LOTS of space and you do NOT feel crammed in like other locations. When we went in on a Friday around 4:45pm, we were the only ones. Nice and cool on a super-hot day but a little bit of an odd smell that I can't put my finger on. The interior and dcor are very new and looks great. Not sure where the bathroom was, as I didn't ask, but didn't stand out like it does in other locations..
Anyway, service was good. Food was OK. The waitress kept our water filled, so the service wasn't bad. I said the food was alright and she didn't question it. I didn't push it - I just wanted to walk across the parking lot to Cinnaholic for dessert. I was never asked how my burger should be cooked but they specialize in pancakes, so I was just glad my burger wasn't a hockey puck. The BLT my daughter got pretty bad. I ended up cutting my burger in half and trading her half and half. WAY too much mayo on the BLT, lettuce was GROSS, and the bacon was so crispy that it just wasn't good. I added a photo to show the mayo and lettuce. I ended up scraping off half the mayo, taking off the lettuce and eating bacon and toast, as the tomato was mushy. Fries weren't great and tasted like the oil was old.
I will say this locations service was about a million times better than the West Valley City location, but I still can't say I'd choose this location on purpose...
