I am compelled to share my recent horrendous experience at Olive Garden, which left me utterly disappointed and frustrated. My girlfriend, accompanied by our 5-year-old daughter, and I visited Olive Garden yesterday with the hope of enjoying a pleasant dining experience, but what ensued was nothing short of a culinary catastrophe.
From the very beginning, the incompetence of the staff was glaringly apparent. Despite there being no wait for seating, the hostess neglected to provide us with basic necessities such as silverware and menus, leaving us awkwardly waiting at our table like neglected patrons. To add insult to injury, we were informed that they were out of red wine, a staple beverage option that one would expect a reputable Italian restaurant to have readily available.
However, the real ordeal began when our food finally arrived after an interminable wait. The dishes were not only delayed to the point of absurdity but were also shockingly subpar. The quality of the food was abysmal, lacking in flavor, and seemed to have been prepared with little care or attention to detail. It was evident that the kitchen staff were either incompetent or simply apathetic towards their craft.
Furthermore, the exorbitant prices only added insult to injury. In an era where everything seems to be getting more expensive, a $74 meal should at least be palatable, if not enjoyable. However, the dismal quality of the food coupled with the steep prices left a bitter taste in our mouths, both figuratively and literally.
In summary, our visit to Olive Garden was an unmitigated disaster from start to finish. The utter disregard for customer satisfaction, coupled with the abysmal quality of food and the unjustifiably high prices, renders this establishment unworthy of patronage. I implore anyone considering dining at Olive Garden to reconsider and explore other dining options where they might actually receive the respect and quality they deserve.
In conclusion, Olive Garden has not only lost our patronage but has also left a lasting impression of disappointment and disgust. It is my sincere hope that management takes heed of this scathing review and undertakes drastic measures to rectify the myriad of issues plaguing their establishment. Until then, I strongly advise avoiding Olive Garden...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I went to the Olive Garden in Sugarhouse last night (1/20/16) to try and enjoy a nice meal at a restaurant that we've never been to while we mourned the loss of a friend. We knew the restaurant would be fairly full since we had arrived after their dinner rush and expected to wait a few minutes for a table. We only had to wait about 15 minutes before the Host was able to seat us.
Once we were seated, our server kindly introduced herself and asked for our drink choices, only she hadn't provided us with our menu as of yet. When we asked for the menu first, so that we could actually see what was offered, she scoffed at us as she left to grab the menu. Came back a few moments later with the menus and asked again, "What can I get for you?" before we had even opened it up. When we asked for another moment to look over the menu, we were met with another scoff.
The whole meal basically went in that fashion. Our server (who we didn't get the name of, lucky for her) would come over every 1-2 minutes to ask what we'd like, when we'd ask for a moment to decide, she'd reply with attitude. When we did put our order in and received our meal, she was back at our table asking if we needed boxes before we had even put a dent in it! All the while, she would be standing less than 10 feet from our table complaining that the Host had sat "just a couple" near the end of her shift. She even had the audacity to pull the plate out from under my boyfriend, WHILE HE WAS STILL EATING, to dump his plate into the to-go box!
Needless to say, we waited longer for the table than she allowed us to actually be at the table. She got an incredibly poor review once we had paid at the electronic thing on the tables and we had hoped to speak to a manager on our way out, but as it always happens during instances like this there "was no manager available to speak with." What a way to end an already horrible day, being that we had just buried one of our dearest friends. I think it's safe to assume that we will never return to an...

The last three or four times I've come here have not been good. This most recent one was disappointing.
I think our server was new, she didn't seem to understand us some of the time, though I'm sure English was her first language. I can understand that she might be a new server, but when my son ordered a Giant Meatball with spaghetti limited time offer and we even pointed to the item on the menu and then she brings out a bowl of spaghetti with a single regular meatball on top, there's a problem.
When I pointed out that it was NOT a "Giant Meatball" she was very confused and then disappeared until it was time to pay. Two other people came out and served the food and corrected the mistake.
Also she gave us extra time to decide what we wanted, then gave us extra extra time and we finally got tired of waiting and ordered the appetizer from the tablet, which was not delivered until we were halfway through our entrees. The breadsticks were "just coming out so it'll be just a couple minutes" and came out with our entrees, about ten minutes after my salad had been delivered. I was offered cheese on my salad, but not my ravioli.
When I did pay, through the tablet, there is a suggested tip part where it calculates the tip for you. DO NOT TRUST THIS. Do your own calculations. See the attached picture. They are being completely dishonest with these machines and I'm surprised no one else has seemed to notice. 15% of $33.21 is NOT $7.00. 15% of $33.21 is just under $5. This is dishonest and misleading and Olive Garden should cease and desist use of this immediately because it is fraud.
Also I was disappointed that my total bill was this amount when the manager comped the appetizer and my meal was under $10, not including my son's Giant Meatball. I just don't think I'll be back. The food was very yummy, but I don't want to encourage cheats or be served that way...
