This place is quaint, but the customer service is absolutely horrid from its wait staff. My wife and I, in our mid-fifties, frequented this place almost weekly until an incident about 2 years ago wherein Garrett, one of the bartenders, suddenly threw a drink I had purchased down the drain after I mistakenly drank from a drink he had placed in front of my wife. Seemingly, that can be construed as some sort of alcohol-related violation in the grand state of Utah, of which I was unaware. There was a slight verbal spat and thereafter we opted to stop in only rarely, mainly due to his adolescent handling of the matter.
On the rare occasion we dropped by, typically within the last 2 or so hours of operation, and Garret was there, I went out of my way to avoid him. Last week around 11:30 p.m., dropped in with my wife, adult son and his girlfriend. As fate would have it, Garrett, completely intoxicated, is walking out. He shoots me this look of disgust and just before we cross paths, he takes a very intentional step sideways and jams his shoulder into mine. My initial reaction was to handle the matter then and there, however, given his act of staggering out, I chose the high road and let it go.
I then contacted the owner who states he interviewed his staff who, allegedly in unison, claim they don't like to serve me. No reason, other than they just don't like to serve me. Have never had a harsh word with any of them (except Garrett 2 years ago), never get loud or unruly or inebriated beyond belief. Unfreakinbelieavable. But what can one expect from juveniles posing as adults. Not as if they hire these people out of Harvard.
In any event, not even the most corrupt corporate American entity treats its customers like this, particularly if they return to dump money in their coffers. Clearly, this owner and its employees are either earning way too much and/or outright lie to their proprietor/owner if they can shun well-paying customers in this fashion.
Personally, my days there are over. Gauging from more than one review in this forum, It would appear I'm not the only one who has experienced the wrath of a bunch of rude juveniles who think it's OK to physically assault a customer due to a 2 year old disagreement. That is never OK. This place deserves a negative 2 on the rating scale!!! There are much finer establishments nearby who cater to their clientele with dignity...
Read moreLook at recent reviews. There are still credit card fraud issues. Fraud charges on credit card, be careful. Went to watch the RSL game. We go frequently. Today we discovered 5 charges on our credit card, all from the tap room. We left at 7:30 to attend dinner with friends. Two of the charges were from the day we were there. Three more were charged on Sunday. We had the credit card with us. Not sure how they charged our card on a day we were not there unless the bartender left the tab running for someone else??? The charges were all random amounts but each one over $50.00. We tried calling the owner but were unable to get hold of him. I was disappointed. I wouldn’t recommend you using your credit card and you should probably keep track of what your ordering, cause now I’m wondering if I’ve been ripped off by them before and didn’t notice. If anyone knows the owner please let him know we are trying to get...
Read moreI like this place as it has a very local vibe with quite a few "regulars" and it is very toned down. They have a good sized bar with a row of 4 tv's over it, as well as some pool tables and another tv in the larger room. Even on a "busy" night at Tap Room, it still doesn't feel that crowded compared to many of the other bars around.
They do breaking bingo (Monday) and geeks who drink trivia (Wednesday), and those are both fun nights to go and relax and chat with friends and the friendly people who come here. It is mostly an older crowd, but not exclusively, which is just the kind of vibe I enjoy.
The service has always been good here, and again, it's a small bar so you aren't really ever waiting for anything.
Everyone has their own personal preferences for what a bar should be of course. Some like it wild, loud and crazy, but I prefer...
