I got the crispy taco, crispy burrito, and tater tots here
My favorite of the three was the burrito. I thought the amount of cheddar cheese in here was quite good, and it was melted to a pretty good level. This combined with the beans, along with the texture of the outside, created a really satisfying, crispy experience.
In both the taco and the burrito, the pintobeans were really good. There was a good amount of them, and they had a pretty solid amount of flavor despite being fat-free. I also liked that the taco was pretty stuffed.
The tater tots were also pretty decent - I liked the fact that they were seasoned
However, one thing I noticed was a problem with the texture in all of them - it wasn't as crisp as it could me. There were definitely softness to many different parts of each item. This was most apparent with the crisp taco, which had a shell that wasn't crispy in the slightest, was also there in the tater tots - which didn't have much crunch to them, and I expected more from the burrito as well
I also have to comment on the prices here. While this food is probably slightly better on the aggregate than somewhere like Taco Bell, that doesn't justify the ridiculous price difference. A crispy taco is about 2.5x more expensive here, and an even larger price difference can be found when you compare the burrito or soft taco. The price of the overall meal was not justified at all
Also, the lack of sauces given was kind of concerning
Overall, the food was pretty good, but the exorbitant prices make it unlikely I'll...
Read moreTaco time is so much better than the other guys in my opinion!
I’m a picky vegetarian with GI issues and several sensitivities which limit my options for fast food (let alone just trying to find quality fast food). I almost never eat out — partly because I’m a picky eater, and partly because most places leave me feeling weighed down or give me stomach aches. But Taco Time has been such a pleasant surprise! The quality of the food is consistently fresh and flavorful, and I actually feel good after eating here.
Even without a mock meat option yet (which I hope they’ll add in the future along with other veggie options), there are still plenty of vegetarian-friendly choices like crisp bean burritos, veggie tacos, bowls, and salads with fresh salsa and guacamole, etc. The portions are decent for the quality and price, and you really taste the difference in the ingredients compared to typical fast food.
The staff here are always friendly and efficient — my order is ready quickly, and they get it right every time. For a quick-service healthy spot, Taco Time really stands out in terms of quality, freshness, and customer care. It’s one of the only fast food places I actually trust.
Thanks for giving me a nice option when I don't have the time or...
Read moreI have been coming here for years. I just went through the drive thru and ordered the soft taco combo like I always do, the guy said it was going to be 8.78 which was less than normal. I thought this was weird but I didn't ask any questions. So when I got my order it was just the burrito, I told the gentleman that I wanted the combo and then he said okay and was going to charge me for a single order of tater tots which was a dollar more than the combos cost, I was in disbelief that he was going to charge me more money for what I wanted because he didn't listen to my order. I asked him why it would be a dollar more and he said because it was seperate. I will not be returning. Having employees doing this and charging more because of their mistake...
