My April's Chinese Restaurant Review While April's may be a hole in the wall, the food is absolutely phenomenal. I've been wanting to try this place for a long time, and I'm so glad I finally did. I will 100% be back, even if the building itself needs some serious love. Here's a breakdown of my experience: Customer Service: 1 Star The service here is top-notch. Every single employee, from the cashier to the waiters, was incredibly friendly and attentive. They made our visit a pleasure. I would rate the service 10/10. Pricing: 1 Star The prices are unbelievably affordable for the quality and portion sizes you get. The food is so good that I honestly think they could charge more to help upgrade their facilities. They'd still be a great value. I would rate the pricing 10/10. Cleanliness: Lost 1 Star This is where the restaurant falls short. The facility looks very run-down, and honestly, it felt pretty dirty and unappetizing. While the food is amazing, the dining area desperately needs a deep clean and an upgrade. I also noticed the restroom was right by the seating area, which isn't ideal. I would rate the cleanliness 1/10. Food: 1 Star The food itself was fantastic, earning one full star from me! I have zero complaints about the quality and flavor of most of the dishes. General Tso's Chicken: 10/10 — The best I've ever had. The chicken was cooked perfectly with a crunchy breading, and it was packed with flavor all the way through. Fried Rice: 10/10 — Excellent flavor and packed with fresh vegetables. Cheese Rangoons: 1/10 — Unfortunately, these were a big letdown. They tasted strongly of old fryer oil, and it was clear they weren't sealed correctly, as the oil seeped inside. Egg Rolls: 8/10 — These were much better than the rangoons. They had great flavor inside, and I didn't taste any dirty oil. Egg Drop Soup: 10/10 — Absolutely delicious! It was so rich and flavorful. Beef & Broccoli: 10/10 — The beef had an amazing texture, which can be rare at some Chinese restaurants. It wasn't chewy at all, and the vegetables and sauce were perfect. Convenience: 1 Star April's is incredibly fast, perfect for a quick lunch break. My soup came out in minutes, and our main dishes followed in less than five. BEWARE of this Aprils Kitchen restaurant!!!! Due to my experience with this restaurant I had, I believe this Aprils kitchen restaurant reuse’s the “wrong order” dishes & mixes them back in with the food in the kitchen to not waste it which is disgusting!!! I ordered a sweet & sour shrimp dish & instead they gave me a com pow shrimp dish that only came with 6 shrimps & of course I ate 2 to try the “spicy dish” before I assumed that it was not my sweet & sour shrimp dish I ordered. When I returned to Aprils kitchen restaurant to return the wrong order for my right order they accused me of eating all the shrimps & that they asked me several times to confirm the order which is not true but false because they didn’t ask me anything!! Also they accused me of scamming them for food! First of all the portions are tiny!! There’s far better Chinese restaurants out there! Also, I believe they have chickens 🐓 locked up in the shed!! BAD FOOD!! I was in disbelief and very disappointed in the way that the employee & the manager/owner of the restaurant treated me & my husband! They insisted we ordered the wrong dish when we clearly know what we ordered! Especially since we have never ordered com pow shrimp & we had no idea what type of dish it was. We had to google it and it’s a spicy dish with shrimp & vegetables. It was very spicy & my husband doesn’t eat spicy food! We own our own business and we would never treat a customer like this ever! I have been eating here for years and never have I seen this so disgusting and disappointing like are kids and family eat here like super super disgusting and unsanitary I was in the drive threw there speaker is broken so they were going order for order waited there 40 minutes and witnessed a homeless man that was playing in the dumpster that was full of maggots and scratch his butt and go In the back door were the kitchen is like the screen is clear so you can see the workers packing the food and stuff anyway he walks in there and touches there cups and ice machine and was in there for quite a while and not one worker said anything he came out with something to drink in his cup so I call the number cancel my order and tell her and she said she didn’t know anything as she was working in the front but imagine how many times this has happened that he’s allowed to be in there around the food and I told her that is super disgusting and sad that yall allow him in there like I feel bad for homeless people but especially after scratching his butt and playing with the dumpster is a big no no and to be allowed in there will not be returning they should be closed for allowing this like he could have diseases and he’s allowed to be in there by the food is ridiculous and I know this isn’t the first time probably cause he walked in normal workers saw him and said nothing he was touching and knew were stuff was and especially after not being told anything they probably allow this all the time wish my dash...
