Chicken Ranch — Restaurant in San Antonio

All of my visits have been disappointing. Ohhh boy do I regret even coming back for drinks lol. The staff here is sooo terrible and to be frank this may contribute to their eventual closure. I have no idea why I continue to do this to myself. I came in at 5pm on a Monday and ordered a drink from their "bartender" which was also my server last time. I ordered a "kamikaze cocktail served up" which is an extremely easy cocktail to make but somehow they found a way to make it incorrectly. She first served it in a shot glass and asked if I had ordered a shot and I said no. She then goes and attempts to fix it by pouring it over ice.. I struggled to even drink it and ended up passing it to my friend. When we walked in, there was only one other person, then two walked in after us despite arriving and ordering before the others I was served last. After receiving poor service and not getting what I ordered twice we decided to go to an actual bar. I truly hate to write this but they seriously need some new staff. My family and I have visited Chicken Ranch several times and every time it is a pleasant experience. Every time we have arrived, Amanda, who leads the restaurant, joyfully greats us with a smile; she is engaging, attentive, knowledgeable, and positive...not only with the guests but in her interactions with the staff. She also jumps in to work beside her team, displaying her commitment and dedication to making the dining experience amazing. The atmosphere is fun, with live music depending on the day you go, to open seating and a great patio with fun games (cornhole, hook and ring, and jenga). They also have tvs everywhere playing all the games so no matter where you sit you have a great view......you name it is on! The food is just as inviting and savory! From the juicy Spicy Siren chicken and Showstopper sandwiches to the fresh Wedge Salad and tasty chicken wings, they are all very delicious!! I don’t normally write reviews… but our bartender Jasmine was so amazing and actually encouraged us to share our experience. so here I am! We tried the Spicy Siren and WOW! Crispy, packed with flavor, and honestly one of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve ever had. The Honey Lemon Pepper wings were absolutely to die for, perfectly seasoned and cooked just right.

The beer was ice cold, like literally so cold it almost hurt to touch the glass 👌 And the manager was incredibly attentive to both us and her staff… you could tell she genuinely cared about everyone having a great experience.

We happened to be there during a 49ers watch party we didn’t even know was happening, and the energy was such a fun surprise. Great vibes all together and everyone around us was having a blast.
