i was on my way back from skating around Southtown, went up presa street and seen this little pink lit up building right off of Martinez. There were to people sitting on the front porch. If you didn’t know the place was a bar it’s quick to mistake it for a house. I walked in and was greeted by a funny li’l illustration i aint never seen in my life but you walk to the right they have a beautiful dark wood, old Victorian/country feel with cute little chairs set up in close but intimate places. Great place to take a date, and have great drinks, but your own snuggle little table top. I had a mezcal based drink and the bartender made it quick and made it great and the price was phenomenal. Open til 2 am every day except Sunday, they close at 12A and Monday they are closed. I surely would like to frequent this place as the perfect layover bar between the tourist-y downtown area, and the hipster south town area. It is a perfect balance between country and...
Read moreI am confused on all the positive reviews of Low Country. I have visited this place on three different occasions and had a bad experience each time. The bartenders are pretentious and act like you’re bothering them when ordering. I discovered Low Country while meandering through downtown and thought “What a beautiful bar”. The bartender acted like I killed his cat. Fair, we all have off days. Then, I went with a date and was embarrassed I even suggested it. Gave it another shot and visited once more with my dad & yet again the two bartenders were so rude & I even considered not tipping (I would never do that). The bartender looked at us and right back down at his phone. Then he scoffed and asked “What are you having?” Sorry to ruin your...
Read moreHipster place. So overpriced drinks, and your beer options are craft or really crappy. No regular domestics; e.g., Budweiser, Coors, or Miller Lite. They do not even have PBR, I thought hipsters liked that. The service was lackluster. Unless you are a hipster, and especially if you a non-hipster minority, do not expect a welcoming crowd. The bartender came out side to clear tables, and despite on numerous occassion intruding upon my personal space she never said excuse me or acknowledged my presence. Icing on the cake is she stepped on my foot while I was siting stationary and looked at me as if I ought to apologize to her. The up side, is the view at night time is pretty. Not pretty enough though to keep me there beyond...
