This was one of my husband's and I favorite brunch spots. We constantly recommend this restaurant to family and friends and this was our go to brunch spot to take our many out of town guests that we frequently have. After yesterday we will never come back or recommend this restaurant to anyone. We will instead tell everyone not to ever go here. We made reservations for a large group, arrived 20 minutes before our reservation only to be told that it would be awhile to get our table ready (there were tons of open tables outside that just needed to be cleaned and dirty dishes on them). So I thought ok the wait wont be to long. As we were waiting outside for about 30 min after our scheduled reservation time came around we saw maybe 2 tables get cleaned the entire time. We then saw another large group that had arrived after us get seated, so we then went in to check why. We were told very rudely that we had checked in 20 minutes late (not true, we were there 20 min early) so they had given our table away. When we told them that was a lie and that we were told to wait outside and thats what we were doing they tried to make every excuse, very rudely (lies) instead of just admitting that they messed up checking us in and they would take care of it. We wanted to talk to a manager and instead they just kept trying to have us speak to other waiters. I wish i would have gotten this girl's name, I dont know if she was a hostess or waitress but she was the most unprofessional person I have ever spoken to at a restaurant EVER. After continuing to treat our group very poorly, she then told us VERY RUDELY that we could sit at these 2 tables outside...THESE TABLES HAD BEEN OPEN THE ENTIRE TIME WE WERE THERE WAITING FOR OVER 45 MINUTES-1hour. We then told her you know what we are ok this is very bad service and we would rather just go somewhere else then to stay here and eat with the workers treating us very rudely when this whole situation was not even our fault. She then gave us a very snarky, rude face and very condescendingly said well then write a review. We then headed over to the Pearl and ate at Down On Grayson where we had excellent service and will now be our go to spot with our...
Read moreLet me start by saying that I love this area. I’ve been here many times and decided to take a friend here from Austin to experience the restaurant and experience here, so we made reservations. Upon I opened the door For a lady walking out, she didn’t even say thank you. We realized that she was one of the hostesses there but figured she’s young. We walked up to the hostess stand and were told that we would have to wait. What is the point of having reservations if you have to wait? We then decided to go to the bar and ordered drinks. Unfortunately the bartender was very unfriendly and unwelcoming towards us. It wasn’t until we made small talk with her that she began speaking with us. We then decided to sit in the open seating area and observed a waiter being caressed by someone at another table. We realized that the table he was servicing we’re friends. 20 to 25 minutes after our reservation time we were finally seated! Our server was inattentive. Once we ordered our food He came back to refill our waters, and came back once a check on us, we asked for condiments and he was nowhere to be seen after that. Our friend from Austin then had to get up and grab the condiments himself since we couldn’t find our waiter. Once we finished our meal, and we were ready to pay, we once again had to wait for our tab. That is then we decided to take it upon ourselves to walk to the bar and asked for our tab. After asking for our tab we still had to wait. During this time we witnessed a server wearing overalls and no undershirt. I understand the trends here in southern Texas in the summer but I feel that this is very unsanitary when dealing when handling food. I am not the type to write reviews or complain about service because I’m very familiar with the service industry and this restaurant. I am extremely disappointed in our experience this...
Read moreAwful!! I recently had brunch at this restaurant and it was not a good experience. I have dined at this place many times with excellent service and food however this past Sunday, it was a completely different one. After being seated and waiting for over an hour for our food, the waiter tells us several items on the menu are not available. Then we decided to leave and I approached the waiter when he said " hold on man, don't be a pu$sy!". I was shocked so I instructed my party of 8 to leave immediately. I calmed down and spoke to the manager with one of my friends and he never acknowledge the comment but continued to make excuses for the delay in food! The waiter even came back up to me (next to the manager) to explained that he thought I allegedly pushed him? I denied it and he walked away. We ended up leaving because the manager was not understanding our disappointment. One of my friends even sent feedback to the manager and he replied very rude and unprofessional which shocked all of us. The email (Chef Stefan Bowers/Andrew G) reply states to "go ahead and retaliate with bad reviews and damn the place to hell and glorify in your revenge". I'm sad and upset at this experience. It's important that all it really takes is a sincere apology for the behavior and food delay so we can return. Instead we received defensive and arrogant attitude that you don't care about our business or yours? As we continue to spread the word of our experience on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, don't be surprised if your business slows down. Without us, there is no...
