Five Guys — Restaurant in San Antonio

Let me start with I'm a fat man who loves burgers. I've dedicated 44 years of my life to studying, testing, and rating burgers. As for this place... The burgers taste good but I wouldn't put them in the exceptional category for taste. The ingredients seem fresh and good quality. The staff is very friendly and our orders were accurate. Accuracy is difficult with my wife's no gluten, no dairy, no fun orders. Don't tell her I said that. The size of the burger was average. The fries are exceptional in taste, cooking, amount, and grease levels. The price for the meal was higher than I think it should be but not outrageous. The atmosphere was not impressive in either a positive or negative manner. It is a nice option to change up from the normal burger place but I personally won't put it in the regular rotation. It has a good mix of positives and it may be the perfect fit for you. Give it a shot and see...

Really disappointed. I’m a 5 Guys fan but this location was one of my worst experiences at a 5 Guys in years. The food had multiple mistakes - no cheese on a bacon cheese burger, missing toppings (like the mushrooms I asked for). Your food is wrong? Guess what, you can’t go inside to get it fixed because the door is locked. While other restaurants are following CDC and Texas dept of health guidelines, this 5Guys location is still stuck in April. Call-ahead or online ordering only, no take-out, no inside seating even at 25%, no OUTSIDE seating allowed whatsoever. Good luck getting your food fixed with a phone call. A real travesty... it’s almost as if the owners here don’t really want...

Visited 5 guys burger and fries with a simple order. Cash register error as we are ordering and when cashier asked for assistance, Maria (manager) was bothered and scolded cashier. Finally after about 10 minutes, register is up and running. Order was taken and get home with both burgers made incorrectly. Ticket was right but burgers were wrong. We called and let Maria know and all we got was an okay. We drive back and no apology, no attempt to make things right. We did finally get the correct burgers. Very bad experience.

By the way, if you’re going to make your cooks wear a hair net make sure that the girls don’t keep strands of long hair hugging their face to keep it...
