T Jin's China Diner has been a go-to spot for us for over a decade, and for good reason--it consistently delivers excellent food, friendly service, and a comfortable dining experience.
Location & Ambiance: The restaurant is located in the shopping center at US 281 and Evans Road. While it can be a bit tricky to spot unless you're inside the center, parking is plentiful, well-lit, and fully accessible. Inside, the décor is a bit dated, but it's always clean, cozy, and welcoming.
Food: The menu is extensive, offering a variety of mild and spicy options. Some of my personal favorites include the basil chicken, basil fried rice, Pad Thai, and egg foo young. Every dish I've tried has been enjoyable, and the selection of meats--including beef, chicken, pork, and lamb--adds to the variety. A standout item is the hot and sour soup, which has a unique, flavorful twist that sets it apart from other places. Portions are generous, and prices are moderate, making it a great value for the quality and quantity of food you receive.
Service: The staff at T Jin's is above average and handles both small and large groups with ease. Orders are consistently accurate for both dine-in and takeout, which is a huge plus. Over the years, the service has remained friendly, efficient, and dependable--something that keeps us coming back time and time again.
Overall: With consistently great food, excellent service, generous portions, and reasonable prices, T Jin's China Diner is a fantastic spot for delicious Chinese cuisine. I highly recommend it and will continue to be a...
Read moreWe have placed many orders at this restaurant and the gentleman who always takes our order over the phone is very no nonsense but not unpleasant. We liked the food and kept placing to go orders after the shelter in place order to try to support a local restaurant. At a certain point they closed the restaurant even to take out orders. They recently re-opened, so we thought we would get some of their food to go after not having had it for a month. The lady on the phone this evening was very rude when I gave the same exact order that we had for probably a dozen times previously. I ordered Pad Thai with tofu, but she insisted it does not come with tofu, just veggies. This is the first I’ve heard of this, as every other time it has never even been an issue. It has always come with tofu, no questions asked. This time, instead of saying no problem, she made an issue of it and was rude. I didn’t like her attitude. There are many restaurants around who need and are more worthy of business. Perhaps T. Jin’s needs to learn to appreciate their customers, especially loyal ones, and treat them better. I’m giving it 2 stars instead of one because their...
Read moreT Jins has become my go-to place to satisfy occasional Chinese food cravings. The food is consistently delicious and well-prepared, using fresh high quality ingredients. I consider myself a bit of a Hot and Sour soup connousieur and theirs is the best in town. Also, I can be a bit skeevish about meat but any dish I've gotten that includes meat or chicken is delicious and the meat cut and prepared perfectly. Generous portions and reasonable prices round out the deal for one of the best places for Chinese in San Antonio. I gave them four stars vs five only because sometimes I've had minor problems with order accuracy (like forgetting to include crispy wontons for the hot and sour soup). Also, they seem to get overwhelmed during busy times and seem to get a bit frazzled but, despite that, the quality is still top notch so I don't want to ding them too hard for something that only happens...
