Yum Thai 281 — Restaurant in San Antonio

Pick up order review: I usually go here about once or twice a week..but usually it seems like they have been skimping out on the portions or not caring to much about there Togo food, especially the rice. Sometimes the curry comes coagulated like it's old or like the sauce didn't infuse correctly to make a smooth curry (that's happened twice). Just recently though, on Jan 29, I ordered 4 extra rice so it could be enough for the family but they had put half the amount of rice they usually put in the container. Since I eat here often I know how much they usually put. I would think they would care enough to make it right or give the right amount of portions the first time. The portions are perfect when you dine in, but it seems like they dont care too much about they're Take out food. This is the 2nd time it's happened and I really dont like reminding them each time I call to put enough rice. I know it sounds petty, but if you pay for food and order enough for a certain group based on past take out experiences at this location then it should be similar..when its not theres not enough food for everyone, which sucks.

I called to let the manager know but the employee said that she would "pass along the message" I asked to speak to a manager only to be put on hold for 10 minutes and then disconnected. I'm sure I'll eat here again, just not as much..and I guess I'll have to remind them about the rice next time or else they'll just pass along the message.. I really hope they improve on the portions or just not mess up the order so I can give a better review...

Was my first time dining here and just a week earlier had started to explore this area of town a bit more.

We started our meal with the papaya salad, which reminded me of the same marinade of a Yum Nah or Beef Salad, but on shredded pickled vegetables. It was sweet, sour, & crunchy, a nice start to our meal.

Next we ordered our entrees. I ordered the Pad See Ewe, which was a decent sized portion, and had decent flavor. The vegetables were crispy and had good flavor while the noodles were a bit lacking flavor wise. Im not quite sure what was missing perhaps it was the spice level. I ordered a medium and it was not spicy at all. I would have placed the medium on a 1-10 scale as a 2 or 3. I'll probably order hotter the next time.

Prices were fair, but not overly affordable. It was average as far as Thai food and restaurants go. The menu had many price increases added to it, one of which was Thai tea which was not priced properly. I mentioned it to the waiter but he only commented that the menu hadnt been updated. I will probably eat here again when in the area, but so far I haven't found anything that would bring me back specifically to...

One star is more than they desreve! I placed and paid for my order online for pick up. I waited 20 minutes before leaving to pick it up because they do not offer a pickup time it just says pick up ASAP. Upon arrival I was told they couldn't and didn't make me my plate because it cost more than what I paid online. They knew when my order was placed that they weren't going to make it and didn't even call me and let me know not to waste my time going to try to pick it up. I was upset but told him i would pay the difference and he told me that i couldn't do that either and he can't refund me . This is complete ROBBERY!!! They won't refund me and they wouldn't let me have what I paid for. I wasted my entire lunch break and paid for food I will never get to eat!! DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM!! Not only is this false advertising but they didn't even care that I don't get to eat. Horrible customer service. I would never turn down a costomer especially after they have already paid...
