With its charming ambiance and warm hospitality, this establishment has become a cherished destination for locals and visitors alike. Whether enjoying a leisurely meal with loved ones or sipping cocktails on the scenic patio, diners at Four Brothers Restaurant are treated to an unforgettable dining experience that celebrates the vibrant spirit of San Antonio. - STARTERS: Steak Tartare: The BBQ-Glazed Brussels Sprouts with Texas honey and shallots present a delightful twist on a classic vegetable dish. The combination of the rich, smoky BBQ glaze and the sweetness of the Texas honey creates a harmonious balance of flavors, complemented by the subtle savory notes from the shallots. The Brussels sprouts themselves are perfectly cooked to a tender yet slightly crisp texture, allowing them to soak up the flavors of the glaze while still retaining their natural freshness. This dish offers a deliciously satisfying way to enjoy Brussels sprouts, making it a standout option for both vegetarians and meat-eaters alike. -- The Steak Tartare featuring American Wagyu beef, capers, shallots, Dijon mustard, a quail egg, Parmigiano-Reggiano, and grilled sourdough is a true culinary delight. The use of high-quality Wagyu beef lends a luxurious richness to the dish, while the capers and shallots add a tangy and aromatic contrast. The Dijon mustard contributes a subtle yet distinctive kick, further enhancing the flavor profile. Topped with a creamy quail egg and served alongside crispy grilled sourdough, each bite offers a perfect balance of textures and flavors. This Steak Tartare is a sophisticated and indulgent choice that showcases the exquisite ingredients in a beautifully crafted presentation, making it a must-try for any discerning palate. -- ENTRÉE The Branzino with a basil crust, accompanied by trumpet mushrooms, toasted pecan risotto, sofrito, and Texas grapefruit beurre blanc, presents a symphony of flavors and textures that tantalize the taste buds. The delicate basil crust enhances the natural flavors of the tender Branzino, while the trumpet mushrooms add earthy notes and the toasted pecan risotto provides a satisfying crunch. The sofrito lends a depth of savory complexity, beautifully balanced by the bright acidity of the Texas grapefruit beurre blanc. Each element on the plate harmonizes seamlessly, creating a culinary experience that is both elegant and memorable. This Branzino dish exemplifies expert craftsmanship and a thoughtful combination of ingredients, making it a standout choice for seafood enthusiasts. -- The Chicken Adovada, featuring a succulent roasted half chicken with a robust red chile sauce, confit marble potatoes, charred leeks, and crema blanca, is a tantalizing dish that embodies both tradition and innovation. The tender chicken, infused with the smoky, spicy flavors of the red chile sauce, offers a delightful explosion of taste with every bite. The confit marble potatoes add a creamy richness, while the charred leeks impart a subtle sweetness and depth. The crema blanca provides a cooling contrast, balancing the heat of the chile sauce perfectly. Together, these components create a harmonious ensemble of flavors and textures, making the Chicken Adovada a standout dish that celebrates the vibrant culinary heritage of its origins while offering a contemporary twist. -- The Sea Bass served with coconut curry broth, baby bok choy, basil, and trumpet mushrooms is a masterpiece of flavors and textures. The sea bass, tender and flaky, perfectly absorbs the aromatic coconut curry broth, infusing it with a delightful blend of spices and richness. -- Overall this restaurant hit the nail on the head and can provide a truly culinary experience that will leave you wanting more.

Honest Review- I’m too cheap to appreciate the quality of ingredients and too sheltered to appreciate the outside patio, so take this review with a grain of salt. Good social media photos and check off bucket list, but I wouldn’t go a 2nd time. The idea of sitting outside on the patio enjoying the river walk and a fresh drink with food seemed like a great time. I’m telling you don’t do it! This area has huge horse flies that swarm you and your food, we had so many files around us, people who stopped by the front to check out the menu in front ended walking away, I can only assume due to seeing us struggle to swat our hands all in the air and take a quick bite before one of the horse flies landed on us or our food. It was quite annoying drinking out of a sticky margarita glass and having to wipe my hand after taking and take sip (I never send anything back or complain in fear that they my do something to my food, but that’s my fault) for the price of this place I would have just rather had a clean glass that isn’t sticky. The Cowboy BBQ Brussels sprouts were drenched in BBQ sauce and didn’t look like photos in other reviews, not that good in my opinion but did give a large portion. All of this I could have overlooked, but the main reason I am leaving this review and what really ticked me off was the “Lions Main Steak” I read the description and interpreted as there were mushrooms on top of the steak, so when I received my plate it looked presentable, but then I cut into the rubbish pile of whatever it was on the plate and was a bit confused at the texture, I took a bite and it was nothing that I could ever appreciate for $28 a plate. Especially when I was expecting a nice juicy steak. I then recalled the waitress never asked me how I like my steak prepared, which now made sense because I was eating a $28 rubber mushroom, I was sooooooo ticked off and that was my breaking point . I realized I’m not made for these type of establishments. I had to google the definition of what a steak was and just FYI, it doesn’t say mushroom are a type of steak. The waitstaff and hostess was very nice and service was great.

My girlfriend and I came here for our 6 months. When we walked in we thought it was a fancy restaurant and were expecting good things. We went around 4pm but didn’t realize their menu options were weird. Brunch is from 7am to 3pm I believe which you get a big menu but when we came around 4pm we only got a small menu with very limited items. We were thinking about leaving but decided not to because the river walk was too busy to walk around people and find another place. We ordered our food and for the price of it we were expecting it to be really good but we were extremely let down. The chips, salsa, queso and guacamole were $18 when none of it was worth that at all, my meal (the picture) was $22 for a quarter of a sandwich and a plate full of fries, the sandwich wasn’t the worst but the bread immediately fell apart so I just ate it with a fork and my girlfriends meal which was the burger was $26 which still wasn’t worth it at all. The meat was barely seasoned as well. We’re from Eagle pass and have limited options here but now would rather stick with our limited options like chilis where you can get probably better food for a better price. I believe they start dinner time at 5pm but we were both hangry and wanted to eat somewhere nice and didn’t want to wait another hour. The dinner menu had more options and probably better food. Our waiter was good and no complaints on him, I ended up telling him how I felt about the price and the portion I got served and he talked to the manager and they made it right. One of the things my girlfriend didn’t like either was the fact that most of the restaurant was empty but they decided to seat us right next to the entrance where bugs were flying in and people constantly walking passed us. We were wanting dessert as well but the only thing that sounded good was a churro which was $10 I think which is definitely overpriced.

Salt would have gotten 3 stars; salt and service would have gotten 5.

Atnosphere: The atmosphere was fantastic, and that was sitting inside, getting a respite from the Texas sun.

Food: Fruit and cheese board, and chef's Plate - fantastic, got to make different pairing combinations, and my entire table had a great time. Beef Rib - This is where the lack of any seasoning started for me and my table. The most beautiful, well cooked, fall off the bone beef rib came out, and as my mouth was watering and I took a bite... I was disappointed. Not only was it not seasoned before brought to the table but not salted at all during the cooking process - i get salt to taste, but I mean that rib had zero... not even the thought of salt.

After two bites, I was able to flag down our server and request salt, and the rest of the people at the business dinner looked relieved and put their forks down. Seeing this, I made a comment about lack of salt, and it became a running joke at the table because everyone had the same issue.

Tomahawk, beef rib, fresh fish, mac'n'cheese, New York strip, and brussel sprouts all cooked fantastically but ruined by no seasoning.

After finally getting salt, the beef dishes were saved, but they still lacked flavor, and the fish dish really needed any type of other seasoning as well.

Drinks: Strong, alcohol forward, and great as expected.

As a note, I went so far as to say, and I mean this. The beef rib might have been the best I had ever had... if it had been salted properly.

Service: Horrible, we were able to get in immediately as we had an early business dinner and got there at 5. We were promptly seated and then... that was it.

If it took 15 minutes for us to get to order drinks and another 15 to get our drinks and to order appetizers because our server was too busy flirting at another table.

When the appetizers came out another 15 minutes later, we all asked for me drinks and ordered our meals. I'm not sure where our drinks ever went because we all got tired of waiting and walked to the bar and got drinks ourselves immediately.

When our food came out, it was a different server that brought it, and I assumed ours quit their job. After trying our food and realizing it desperately needed salt- I was amazed as I spotted our server and flagged them down.

They asked how our food was, and I was able to ask for salt... to which we were asked, "Why?" and my answer was obvious.

Well, guess what... time passes, and we don't see them again, and we were all ready for drinks and still hadn't gotten salt - so another trip to the bar solved all of our problems.

Our server showed up as we were all sitting back down and asked if we were ready for the check - we hadn't eaten our food, but I said yes as I assumed it would be a while... no mention of the missing salt or drinks.

Overall the food was cooked fantastic, was great quality and the restaurant was beautiful... just salt and service for 5 stars and maybe one from a...

TLDR: Avoid unless atmosphere is by far your top concern.

After our experience at this restaurant, we set a new rule. No more restaurants in hotels unless we have no other option or personal recommendations. They are always overpriced and underwhelming , but this place epitomized that dynamic.

Atmosphere: Beautiful and classy. Great Riverwalk view yet somewhat secluded. Nice furniture.

Food: we are very excited because we started off with the cornbread as an appetizer, and it was really excellent. Huge and delicious. Unfortunately, it was all steeply downhill from there. Little on the menu caught our interest so we ended up ordering burgers. We ate them but are now angry at ourselves for not sending them back. The meat had a bitter flavor(and was very dry for medium) and the molten pimiento cheese was not a good topping to our taste. We found ourselves laughing about how we had joked about stopping at Whataburger on the way because we were so hungry. And we literally wished we had after the meal. We “upgraded” the fries to their BBQ fries which basically meant they sprinkled sugar and smoked paprika on top. Props for attempting to deconstruct bbq sauce, but the sugar does NOT work without the sour that normally comes from vinegar. I would try adding salt and vinegar powder if I wanted to try and pull this off, but the current fries with sugar flavor is not working.

Price: offensive. The tab ended up being nearly $150… For two almost inedible burgers plus cornbread, one Caesar salad and one beer.

Service: Extremely slow. The server was very friendly but I’m guessing she had way too many tables. There were very long periods where we needed something, but she was nowhere to be found. I ordered a beer during the appetizer and it did not come until after I had finished the entrée. I reminded her at the checkback after the entrees were delivered expecting her to ask the bartender to fulfill the order immediately and bring jt right out, but it was another long wait and I went my entire entree without a beverage.

In summary, we will definitely never be back and we are mad at ourselves for paying that much without sending the food back. This experience affirmed to us that we have to change our conflict-avoidant ways and stop accepting less than we paid for. We feel terribly ripped off and angry with ourselves for waiting until the review to...
