My husband, me, son, daughter in law and granddaughter went for an early Motherâs Day dinner at your San Antonio Riverwalk location . Since we were a Landrys card holder we chose Bubba Gumps. The hostess was friendly and seated us quickly. We were seated right next to the kitchen with menus. We understood they were busy so we viewed the menus and waited for our serverâŚand waited and waited. 20 plus minutes later without even an acknowledgment my husband got up and waited by the kitchen door for anyone to ask for a server. A server said she wasnât sure who our server was but she would find out. Again, waited and waited. Once again my husband stopped a server and she said the same thing. She eventually came back and said she didnât know who our server was but sheâd help us . We ordered 7 pounds of crawfish, boiled shrimp appetizer, kidâs popcorn shrimp and fried chicken dinner. What we got was the appetizer, 3 pounds of crawfish, a fried chicken sandwich and popcorn shrimp minus the fruit side. I advised the server that I ordered the chicken dinner and she apologized and said she would get that corrected. The server did bring me a side of mashed potatoes to hold me til my meal arrived I stopped a separate server to ask about the fruit. She said she would bring the fruit right out. Never received the fruit. My meal finally came and everyone was about finished. The positive was the food was good. Our server was very cordial as well. What makes this even worse is that at no time did a manager stop by our table to address the situation. I saw 2 people that appeared to be in charge. I KNOW how difficult it is to run a restaurant. I owned one and I can promise you that if this went on I would fire everyone and start over. When we were trying to pick a place to eat I read reviews. Our experience was noted here more than once and we still ate here. My husband and I are retired and travel a lot. We use Landrys whenever we can. We most definitely will never eat at this location ever again. All we wanted was to enjoy a good Mothers Day meal with family and that definitely was the accomplished. Shame on you...
Read moreI am visiting from out of state, and despite all the parking issues, i am impressed by this restaurant. The atmosphere is amazing, and it makes you feel like your living alongside Forest Gump. We got tables right by the water, and i am amazed at the beauty of the riverwalk that the restaurant is located on. Our server Diona was absolutely spectacular, despite how busy she was! She deserves a raise. Diona was such a bright face and kind server, that she made our already amazing time at Bubba Gump Shrimp even more the better. She is the type of server that I wish I got at every restaurant. We were smiling all night because of our experience with Bubba Gump Shrimp, our server Diona, The riverwalk's beauty, and of course the food. The food was absolutely spectacular! I have been craving a good seafood meal for a while. This satisfied every craving, and left me with joy and warmth. The chefs even made sure to not make my food with my alergy of Capsaicin/Spicy. Would recommend 1000%.
Kid friendly: They have lots of options for kids, and it is such a fun atmosphere to go to. Children will have a blast going here. Fun for the whole family!
Parking: Parking is difficult, because it is Down Town. It's especially hard to find parking for disability parking. We had to pay $15 to park on the 6th floor of a parking garage nearby, just to eat here.
Accessibility: Unfortunately this location is not very wheelchair accessible due to its location on the riverwalk. It's definitely not impossible, and they have a special entrance for a wheelchair, but it is difficult. Especially when it's busy on the river walk. I have a disability, I can walk, but I still struggled a little. But the restaurant...
Read moreDefinitely for tourists. It's on the filthy San Antonio Riverwalk. Pricey restaurant, plus about $20 for parking. The server's change your order to more expensive entrees that are similar, I guess hoping you won't notice. Mine was obvious because I ordered the 12 oz. Ribeye $31.99. My granddaughter ordered Maker's Mark Salmon with bourbon sauce $24.99. My entree came out ribeye and grilled shrimp which is $34.99. I don't like grilled shrimp so I noticed that right away. I told the server that's not what I ordered. She said that's the way it comes. I pointed out to her the menu has 2 similar entrees and I ordered the one with just the steak. She blamed it on her trainer entering it wrong. Her trainer came and said anyone at the table could have the shrimp and that she comped my meal. When our ticket came, she did not comp my meal, merely changed it to what it should have been. She needs to learn what the term comped means However, the ticket showed my granddaughters meal as Jenny's Salmon & Shrimp $26.99. When I pointed the discrepancy out to the server, she said the Maker's Mark and Jenny's Salmon were the same thing and same price--that they recently got new menus. Never mind one comes with a bourbon sauce and the other with her butter sauce. Being that we don't have a menu in front of us, we couldn't verify, but I did look at their menu online today. Turns out server is a LIAR!!!! Total dishonesty. They are not content with getting a sizeable tip on the $176 they jacked up with the switches. CHECK YOUR TICKET CLOSELY. I would suggest taking pics of menu of what you order. That way there's no question as to what it should be and how...
