Went there to get what I thought would be a special treat while on the River Walk in San Antonio. When I asked my hotel if they had heard of this place which was close to where we were, they had not. That should had let me know to not visit this place.
I tried various flavors and decided on 2 different ones with one being the Heath Crunch and the other of something I can't remember. After really consuming them, I will have to admit they were nothing special. I could have gotten ice cream from the grocery store which I would have enjoyed more.
What really set me off was the fact you had to pay by credit card AND they charge you a 3% service charge for the privilege of paying by credit card. We offered to pay by cash to save the 3% yet that is not acceptable. You MUST charge the purchase. If they require you to pay by credit card than add that into the purchase. I was able to see the sign when I looked around the corner where they have all the flavors. This tells me they are trying to hide the extra charge.
This is also a very small place which does not have any place to eat your treat. They want to take your money and get you the hell out of their place. In fact, they share the space with a gift shop that had some cute items. I was more impressed with the gift shop than Justin's Ice Cream.
I can tell you not to waste your money going to this place. You would be better getting grocery store ice cream or visit a place like Walgreen's to get...
Read moreWe are so incredibly grateful to Justin’s Ice Cream Company and Rita’s On The River for hosting our Ice Cream Social and welcoming educators into their beautiful space. This event was completely community-driven—and these two local gems went above and beyond to make it happen.
From the start, the owner was gracious, flexible, and truly enthusiastic about supporting this event. Justin’s served up delicious scoops while Rita’s gave us full access to their lovely patio space, perfect for mingling, grabbing appetizers, and soaking in that Riverwalk heat.
The waitstaff at Rita’s deserves a huge shoutout for their patience and professionalism—they navigated a lively, roaming crowd with a smile and made sure everyone was taken care of, even as we moved around and cashed out at different times. There was ample seating, cold drinks, and lots of laughter—it was the perfect kickoff to our conference week.
To Justin’s and Rita’s: thank you for opening your doors and your hearts to our community. You made tons of educators feel celebrated and welcomed. We’ll be singing your praises for...
Read moreThe ice Cream was delicious but the employee who helped, Ruth who also happened to be the manager was in a bad mood and her customer service was horrible. I asked for a cup with cherry vanilla and cookies and cream. She came back with half of scoop of cookies and cream and a full cup of cherry vanilla. When I asked if I could Please have a full scoop she became upset and rolled her eyes. For the price they charged , I needed to get a Full scoop. What prompted her to give me a half of scoop is beyond me but her attitude grew more when I asked her for her manager or the owner , she said his name is mr Weston and didn't know his first name or number. We have been in San Antonio visiting from San Francisco ca. The entire stay , we have been treated so kindly by San Antonio residents. Very Nice people. Love San Antonio but RUTH, perhaps you need to work an earlier shift or not work with the public because you clearly have...
