Lee's Garden Chinese Restaurant — Restaurant in San Antonio

VERY disappointed! this used to be one of the best chinese restaurants I had tried well I bought a plate to be delivered and the lady on the phone said it would be an hour, keep in mind that I ordereded a hr before my lunch break around 11 moreless well after 12:30 still nothing!!!! i called lady told me driver was lost, told her this wasnt the first time i had asked for delivery, told her I was on my lunch break and that it was almost over and still no food, all she said was that driver was on his way, no sorry no nothing, well my food arrived after 1:45 !!!! I paid the driver and open my plate just when i was about to take a bite I saw something MOVE inside my rice!!!!! it was Tiny ROACHES coming out of it!! it was so disgusting It made me so mad because i called the lady at Lees to tell her what was in my rice said she would have driver come and pick it up and replace it with a new plate!! REALLY??? thats it? she didnt apologize or anything I told her I didnt want it she then suggested i keep plate and eat it and that she would give me credit for my next order!!! I couldnt freaking believe it, she didnt care, I told her i needed the driver to bring me my money back that i didnt want anything!!! She said she would send driver right over, driver called me to my cell phone shortly and asked what time I got out that because hes on his break and cant come by at the moment!! oh my gosh i cant believe how poor their service is, he told me he would be in til around 5 because hes on his break, i dont recommend this restaurant to anyone very dirty, unsanitary and their service is the worst they dont care about losing business what so ever, when i called to tell her what driver had said she said that she couldnt do anything about told her i would report her for her unsanitary food and she just sid ok bye! REALLY??? this place is ridiculous !! dont go there...

We used to love to visit Lee's Garden. Sorry to say that that things have changed for the absolute worse. When you first come in, you are not greeted, despited someone sitting at the register near the front door. Once we directed ourselves to the register, we were given a paper menu to order from. Then you give your order and must pay then then you are to seat yourselves to be served. That should have told me something right there. Paying for your food before it's served in a sit-down restaurant is kind of sketchy. What can I say? NOTHING like it used to be. Meal was served in plastic to go container and drinks were served in styrofoam cups. Utensil was a plastic undersized fork. No spoon or knife was offered. The fried rice had absolutely no flavor, no vegetables, at all it was just brown colored rice. Dry and unappealing. We were not checked on by a waiter after our food was brought over. After I flagged down the one waiter and the restaurant to ask whats up with the rice, he said "We make it that way because some people don't like vegetables in their fried rice." Okay.....? The egg rolls were filled with something that was actually undistinguishable. I couldn't tell if it was leftover meat or leftover vegetables but it was brown to the point of almost being black on the inside, and tasted like they were fried in weeks old oil. We were the only customers in the restaurant at noon which should have told us something. Three more customers walked in and I warned them off the place and they turned around and walked out. Food was absolutely horrendous!! I actually ended up getting food poisoning, getting violently ill all night after eating there. Upon reading other people's reviews and Facebook posts about this place, I finally decided to try it. most people say the customer service is probably some of the friendliest they've ever received, and I have to admit the gentleman behind the counter was professional. I honestly wish I could say the same about the food. I ordered chicken lo mein. It is one of the easiest dishes to make. The texture of the noodles taste like they have been sitting around for days. It was very mushy and tasted bad. The chicken was very sparse in the meal. I don't waste food. I will generally eat my food even if it's not to my expectations. But I literally only ate a quarter of my plate. My friend, I was sharing it with them, they took one bite and was done. I had to drown it with soy sauce just to give it any flavor whatsoever. Fortunately for me, I was still in the complex where the restaurant is located. I brought the food back, and the gentleman did look extremely genuine and upset that my food was not to my liking. Offered my money back or to make my food again. I refused my money based solely on the fact that it was a Saturday night it was an hour before closing, and it was actually quite busy in there. I did not have my food remade because it looked like they were short-staffed and just extremely busy. I will try the place again and when I do I'll give an update and hopefully change my ratings because I do like that people have given this High marks and the courtesy and professionalism I received from the gentleman deserves a...
