Real reviewer who works in the area. This place was supposed to be a fish and chips place but never opened due to maybe the pandemic delaying it.
Fast forward to the present. This place opened recently and I stopped in. Another co-worker also stopped in.
Everything was fine for a small local place to eat however the price/food ratio was a bit disappointing.
I got the BLT, order of fries and a water for $21 and some change.
The sandwich was fine, the ingredients seemed fresh. Came with what looked like half a pickle spear cut up.
The fries came separately and a decent amount at $5. Lightly seasoned. Better than deep fried fries from McDonalds or other fast food.
Notes to management: I like to be fair and want to be constructive in my review so here is my thoughts.
All entrees should have a side. For the BLT, maybe a small amount of fries and extra say another $2 to double it. $15 for a BLT with fries and I'm sold.
My co-worker got the Spicey Bulgogi something or other and said "It was food."
For $18 it should be a good portion.now I did not try it.
So in conclusion, I feel like I could go for a bit less and get a Dominos or P-Johns pizza, $13.50 get a Mexican plate across the street.
I get cost is going up these days but for a new restaurant in a hard to spot location, you want people immediately wanting to come back.
A good seller, easy to make for cheap is fried Calamari. Some places sell it for $15+ dollars for barely a handful. Sell an appetizer of Italian seasoned Calamari for $10 and put maybe a good portion and people will come just to buy that. Maybe make a 6 buffalo wing appetizer.
Many people downtown like fast finger foods. I would definitely pay $21 for a good Calamari plate with toast...
Read moreTalk about a happy discovery! We were looking for Korean food after the Woosung “B4 We Die” concert and stumbled over Golden Goose here on Google. We walked in about 10 and it was pretty quiet, but we were greeted quickly and any questions we had were answered cheerfully.
I got the savory beef with rice and could not have asked for a better dish. The beef was thinly sliced and perfectly sauced. It had a nice low heat that built up slowly to a delicious and delicate warmth on the back of the tongue and the radish kimchi was bright and spicy without being too sharp.
My friend got the “Yuringi” friendly and it was divine. Perfect cubes of tofu with a delightfully crisp crust and firm silky insides, tossed in another incredibly delicious sauce. The sauce wasn’t heavy enough to overwhelm the tofu, but had enough body to stick to the tofu and add the right amount of flavor to each morsel.
The owner and other employee were absolutely delightful to chat with (and I am going to apologize because TBI makes it a stone beeeeeech to remember names) and obviously put a great sea of thought into the menu and how they wanted to present their dishes. Also, so so proud of the chef and her food, which says a LOT to me.
I’m from Austin, but this is a place worth making the drive to and I will be back. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have some beef and rice to eat for breakfast. (Also, go support local restaurants! And listen to Woosung -and K-pop in general- while you’re at it. Neither will...
Read moreThis place is AMAZING. Absolutely delicious. My husband and I were blown away by the fried chicken (served with a wedge of iceberg lettuce which was the perfect fresh “pop”)! We ordered a side of rice and it was slightly purple and so yummy—even for steamed rice. Our picky son got the BLT and it was a double decker sandwich—so much food for the price. He ate all the bacon, tomatoes, pickles, and milk bread toast. Everything was the highest quality—the simplicity of the toast was deceptive—it was soooo good. The owner and server were incredibly friendly—on arrival we were greeted and immediately with huge smiles and an enthusiastic welcome. There was plenty of inside and outside seating and they validate parking for the place across the street. Very casual vibes (but the decor was really nice)—we came here after a day at SeaWorld and didn’t feel out of place at all. There was another family with a young child there when we went and a table around the corner sampling what they emphatically claimed was a great wine selection. We couldn’t resist trying the beef bulgogi and it came with a delightful side salad. The lemon dressing was so yummy I’ll be trying to replicate it for awhile. The beef bulgogi was tender and flavorful and a Massive portion. The beef was my favorite and the fried chicken was my husband’s. Highly highly...
