The best part of this place is Tony - whatever he is being paid, he deserves double. He was friendly, went out of his way to personally escort my elderly grandmother to the restaurant in a way that avoided stairs, he checked on our table and others, he cleared tables .. he single handledly raised the spirits of many patrons. Honestly, amazing job. Cannot speak highly enough of how much better he made the experience.
Besides him... maybe this was just a bad day for the restaurant... I overheard a server tell a table that the bartender never worked a brunch before and was solo - maybe someone called out, or maybe that's a fib to cover the poor experience of what seemed like everyone on the patio. We stopped in for cake and coffee and our server forgot to put in one of our cakes - so the entire table got their table but one person. I tried to mention that, but they ran away so quickly that even when I hollered (to be heard over the music) they were too far away to hear. The table next to us heard and commiserated with us by saying that their order was messed up as well. We were never asked for refills, so we sat for about 15 mins with empty drinks. The next time our server came, I had to ask for a refill. 20 mins later they came back to let us know that they were waiting on the coffee to be made.. again, might be true, but definitely just felt like a fib to cover up being forgotten about. When the coffee was finally dropped off, my grandmother tried to flag the waiter for our missing cake, but again they ran away. Finally Tony came over to clear our table and he took the time to ask about our experience and what he could do for us - my grandmother mentioned the cake and he had it at our table within 2 minutes.
Again, it could be a bad day... But after this experience, I wouldn't choose to come back here to give it...
Read moreHusband is allergic to onions, ordered side dishes of broccoli and rice and STILL GOT ONIONS. Asked the server again if it had onions and she swore it did not. He spent the rest of the night ill and upset. Aside from the allergy concern, the food was dry, bland, altogether disappointing, all around the table. Could have bought a cheap microwave meal and been happier. I'm always trying to be on the servers' side, but this entire experience was ridiculous. We were ignored for hours, couldn't even get the check to leave and take care of my husband. There were almost no tables for a large group, and multiple of them had only 1 or 2 people sat. Another group came in after us, smaller than ours and got the larger table that would have made more sense for our party (it was clean when we came in, too). The smaller group was immediately catered to while we were still waiting for water. A few of us ordered beers. One of my friends got the wrong drink and when she asked about it, she was told to just keep that one, as if it was a favor. It was not. She never got the beer she asked for. Then the atmosphere...it could have been nice, except for there were problems with the music. At one point it got turned up to max volume and was screeching with bad connection too. I like loud music, but this actually had everyone in the room covering their ears. Felt like being in a fire drill for at least a solid minute before they fixed it. All in all I would not trust this place for a meal. I've seen multiple reviews saying it's ok for a drink on the patio and not much past that, but they couldn't even give us the right beer, so I'm done and will not be wasting any more time...
Read moreThere are many positives to this restaurant.
The positives:
Waitstaff: welcoming and polite. Their POS is hand held and easy to utilize.
Dining room: clean and aesthetically pleasing.
Food: Brussel sprouts were crispy, and the blue cheese was delicious. The pretzel was extraordinary, and the deviled eggs were amazing. Their burgers were ok.
Beer: my wife really enjoyed her liter beer. She said it was very very tasty.
The areas of need:
Waitstaff: it was most likely an anomaly, but we had to ask multiple times to get our drink order right.
Dining room: it was a little tight, and the cross-breeze was haphazardly strong whenever someone opened the door.
Food: food was great, hands down.
Beer: this is the main area of problem for our visit. On a physical drink menu that was placed on the table, in large letters at the top, it said that, if you buy one of those drinks, you get the mug. This greatly influenced my wife’s choice in drink, both type and size. At the end of the meal, I asked if she was getting a new mug or if she’s taking that one. The waitress was surprised and said that, no, if we wanted a mug, it would be an extra charge ($20, I think). I asked for clarification on the menu to which she replied that it was an old menu. We would have been fine if we had known this at the beginning. My wife would have chosen something different. It’s the poor handling of the situation along with miss-signage that caused a...
