I had a terrible experience with a manager by the name of Lupita this afternoon. I love spicy food, but the entree I ordered was so spicy, it was not edible. I went to the bar area where she was standing and kindly asked if I could just switch it for something else and gave her my option of the exact same thing without the heavy spices. She said she would put in my order and box up my original plate as she would be charging me for both plates. She said "People order this plate a lot and they never return it, just you." And proceeded to tell me I should know what I'm ordering. I told her if I was going to be charged for another plate, I didn't want anything at all and went to sit back down at our table. About 5 mins later she comes out with a new plate and begins to scold me at the table where I was sitting with other guests. She said "this is going to be the only time we are going to do this because no one has complained about it except for you." I told her I don't care what others do, this is about my experience. She continued about this will be the only time she will help me. And she started saying "No worries, no worries." And continued to cut me off from speaking and walked off. Completely unprofessional. She set such a bad tone for the others dining near us as well. It was so embarrassing to be spoken to and treated that way with the others at my table as well as the other tables around us, listening to her make a scene. How dare she come to the table where I am sitting and she is standing over me with an ugly approach and change the whole environment. She ruined my lunch and at this point my appetite was gone. She needs some serious Management classes. She must not be aware that when someone has a bad experience, it is shared 10 times more than a good one. At the end of the day, it was going to be the cost of 2 eggs to replace the dish and earn a repeat customer. A strong manager would realize this. With the thousands of Mexican food restaurants in SA, this restaurant cannot have a manager like her treating...
Read moreVery few restaurants carry authentic Mexican restaurant flavor, so you have to celebrate when you do! This restaurant is simply delicious! Their food is exquisite. I had the rajas quesadilla. I do want to say it requires more rajas as I could not taste them and checked and didn’t find very many. But the seasoning is on point when it comes to the Ranchero Sauce yet needs more on the plate, the green sauce which is great but isn’t spicy, and the red sauce which is lightly spicy for me but oh so delicious! I loved their Ranchero Beans which I requested in lieu of refried. When you arrive, they bring you a bean and chorizo blend with pork rinds as a topping. We were so hungry, so this was a great way to welcome us and to hold ourselves until our breakfast came out. The environment is excellent. The food was tasty. The location is clean. Our server was awesome. She let us take a pic with her and all. My café de olla was great but extra sweet. They do need to put less sugar in it and provide fresh hot milk. I had to use the little milk in packets. It’s not café de olla unless you accompany it with some hot milk. That would have been amazing! Still, I loved this authentic Mexican restaurant and will return...
Read moreWe always seen this place driving by on the freeway, so we had to take our car in for service nearby uhg.... (whole other review needed there) and decided to walk over and grab some food. We walk in and stand at the front to be seated... probably stood there 3-4 minutes with a lot of the waitresses just looking at us and walking by. We were then seated, the inside is nice and clean and so are the restrooms.
We ordered our drinks and they came out pretty quickly my wife ordered the Cafe de Ollo which was so good and tasty! Then our food arrived about 15 minutes later I got the Migas Diablos and it was great! The chips still had some crunch and the spice level made me cough a few times but it was delicious! The beans and potatoes were both flavorful and cooked to perfection!. My wife ordered the cheese enchiladas and he sauce was to die for! Did not taste like the normal sauce from a can but straight up home made goodness!! Only real complaint was the salsa containers... they were pretty gross! Luckily food was tasty enough to where we didn't use them
Great service, nice and inviting atmosphere, and terrific food! We'll...
