Ive never had such a bad experience at a Starbucks like i did today at this one. I go to Starbucks about 6-7 times a week and ive never received this type of service . My husband and i went this afternoon and he ordered his usual a regular coffee with 6 sugars and asked if he could have the Veranda roast, which at first the male barista at the drive thru had no clue what we were talking about so he said he would ask the manager. I think the manager had a headpiece also bc we quickly heard her say to us they dont make dark or blonde roast after 11am. We thought that was odd because we had never had any Starbucks tell us this but we were like ok no worries give us whatever coffee you have. Then I ordered my usual a strawberry frapaccino with strawberries on top and oat milk and the manager quickly interrupted me and said “We can’t give you strawberries on top because its a chocking hazard”. I told her that is literally what i order almost everyday and have never had an issue, and she continued to say well they are not suppose to because people can choke. I told her thats crazy because im an adult not a child and i should know how to chew so idk whats the issue. She said she could only make it as it came with strawberry purée, so i was like ok sure go ahead. When i got to the window to pay, the male barista apologized and said Starbucks classified it as a chocking hazard because “people can sue if the strawberry goes through the straw and swells up in your throat and you chock”. At this point im giggling bc in so annoyed, embarrassed, and honestly confused but i just said ok and paid. As we were driving off we tasted our drinks and looked at them and my frappacino was literally half strawberry purée. Usually its a light pink color but it was red because of how much purée it had. It was also made with regular milk not oat milk. It was disgusting! My husbands coffee was also awful bc it had no sugar. They were the worst drinks ive ever received. This is maybe my third time coming to this particular Starbucks and i will never do so again. I rather drive a couple miles down for better quality...
Read more"I did the refund, that's all that's owed to you" - Starbucks shift leader Jaz
What's happened to customer service and general courtesy? I visited the location over the weekend to redeem a birthday reward. I went inside and informed the young guy at the register twice that I was redeeming a bday reward. Through the SB app I clicked 'redeem' and the bar code was scanned. On my way way home a notification came up thanking me for the purchase.... I was charged for the drink! I called the store and the manager apologized for the mistake and said he (cashier) was new and didn't do it correctly. She recommended i return to the store for a refund and they would remake me my drink. She was unable to refund over the phone, but customer service could do it. Cust Svc said they couldn't correct the employee's mistake and recommended i return to the store.
I returned the next day and waited at the register for over 4 minutes before I was acknowledged. It was not busy at all, no line in the lobby and only 2 cars in the drive thru. No greeting when I walked in as they were too busy laughing and talking to each other to notice a customer. I spoke with shift leader Jaz. She took the receipt and did the refund. She never apologized nor offered to remake the drink (like the manager offered) I brought it up and Jaz remarked "I did the refund, that's all that's owed to you" I told her what the manager said and she replied she couldn't honor the gesture to remake the drink. I've seen employees throw away entire drinks and remake them, so know she purposely chose not to honor the gesture. I know it's absurd to get angry over coffee, but it's the lackadaisical and apathetic attitude and total lack of customer service that gets under my skin, especially when this is all their error. Not once was I told Happy Bday. I know it sounds petty but that's good customer service and just human decency, all of which are missing at...
Read moreToday @ 5:02pm me and friends went through the drive thru and ordered 6 drinks. I get home and walk up the stairs with the full drink carrier and I get to the top step and the drink carrier gives out and 2 of my drinks fall to the ground! I drive back to the store just to see if they can have them remade (I worked at starbucks for 3 years and would always do what’s right even if it was right or wrong) and i’m guessing the shift manager for that shift (scruffy beard, patchy, beanie, didn’t want to be there, 5’6” perhaps) walked up and already looked like he had an attitude. Said “what?” and i repeated what I just said and he said…… did you get home?! and i explained i was walking up to get to my house and he said, “at that point it’s just an inconvenience and you’ll be charged for more drinks”.
I was like even if the drink carrier is flimsy and gave out, and he said “i’ve never heard of the drink carriers being flimsy”…… BSFFR don’t pmo, I worked at Starbucks for 3 years I know those cheap carriers do be flimsy some times. Me knowing that you can remake the drinks and he just didn’t want to cause he was already pissed i guess from his hard shift, made me upset and so i bought another drink.
Not upset that i had to pay, it’s the simple fact he had an attitude from the moment he stepped up to when he handed me my drink, that made me upset. Do better sir and maybe you’ll have a better start to...
