I just had lunch here with a friend and have nothing negative to say about the food or the ambiance. Both are actually quite delightful and we love that they offer outdoor seating with a view of the mall. I've actually dined at this restaurant quite frequently, but will not be going back again. More often than not when having lunch at Bazille I have had Anne as my waitress, who is unfortunately always quite rude. I have dined at this restaurant with numerous people and we have wondered with all due respect why she is in the service industry. We have gone above and beyond to try and make the dining experience more enjoyable when we have her as our waitress, but it is just not possible. Not once have I dined here with her waiting on us and had an enjoyable lunch. She is curt, belittling, rushes us, and always seems to have a very angry look on her face and acts quite annoyed that she's having to serve her guests. I would not go on to leave such a review if it hadn't been going on for so long, but it has gotten to the point where we won't be going back again due to it. I want to add Ahmed, the Assistant Manager has always been extremely friendly and has helped make the dining experiences we've had there much more enjoyable. It is clear he really cares about his costumers and enjoys making people feel happy and comfortable. Please extend our appreciation to him for the good times he helped create while...
Read moreJust had lunch with my wife @ Bazille, which is actually located on the 2nd floor of Nordstrom UTC. It was very unclear from Maps, where precisely the restaurant was located. When we arrived to UTC, I searched for it on the digital map, but it wasn't listed anywhere. Fortuitously, we were standing just outside Nordstrom & my wife had to use the restroom. So, we went inside Nordie's, & up the escalator to the 2nd floor. My wife spotted the store's restrooms, which were right next to the entrance of Bazille. Luck coincidence!
We sat outside on their small balcony. I noticed most all of the servers were wearing masks, both indoors & outdoors, as were most of the Nordstrom employees. The service was prompt & generally excellent, as was the food & drink. I had the halibut fried fish & chips, with house cole slaw, & crab bisque soup with a Stone Brewery can of beer. My wife had the lime shrimp salad, with a glass of Pinot Noir. I took a desert order of creme brulee with raspberries to go--which I'm about to eat in a minute. Again, the food & drinks were very good. I spent about $100, tip & taxes included. The parking lot parking fee was free, because we were there less than two hours.
I doubt that I'd make a special trip back there, just because it's kind of out of my way. I was in the area today for a doctor's appointment. However, if I was already @ Nordie's shopping, I'd definitely stop in for...
Read moreYears ago I worked at the Nordstrom in Redondo Beach. I was obsessed with the grilled cheese and tomato bisque soup from the Nordstrom Cafe. Anyways, I was visiting San Diego and had to run in to Nordstrom to buy a birthday gift for a girlfriend. I happen to be in the department just outside of Bazille and it looked inviting so I stopped in to grab a quick bite. I decided to get a burger because I was in the mood for something simple. The burger was tasty and cooked just how I asked for it. It was a little busy but I was sat quickly and my waitress took my order in a timely manner. A nice young woman who appeared to be the manager with long brown hair, running food and helping clear tables was very pleasant. She stopped to ask me how my meal was and if I needed anything else. I appreciated her stopping to talk to me, especially because I was dining alone. She was so friendly and warm but presented very professionally. I liked her! I will be coming back to try the...
