We came to this place on 7/23/18 after dinning down the street from this place. We came in for desert n coffee. We ordered several different cookies n coffee n gelato. Very pricey n only one of their cookies tasted good n fresh, rest we didnt eat. I had ordered a lovely dinner to go for my husband from the place we had dinner at. I forgot the dinner in a big brown paper bag with handles at the table where we sat. We were the only 4 people in the whole place n workers saw us at that the table, we were there for more then half hr n only ones there. We cleaned our table after our selves even after having to clean the mess that was left there from previous customers...I called like 7 mins after leaving to get my dinner bag i left behind. The guy said i already threw it out like tens minutes ago. Which means he threw it out as soon as we left n we had just said good night to him n thank u. He knew that bag had to be ours. I asked him why did he throw it away so fast, that he should of allowed some reasonable time for the customers to come back to retrieve their belongings? He was so so rude n loud saying talking over my voice, saying we dont hold anything for customers we throw everything away thats left behind. Really cuz if that was something valuable i dont believe that would be the case that u would throw everything out.... I couldn't get a word in egde wise. I was trying to tell him the area their doing business in is all reastraunts n shopping n tourist. How are u just gonna throw away ur customers things with out allowing a reasonable time for customers to come back n get their belongings. He kept shouting sorry lady its not our problem n hung up the phone on me. I was at an awe... how could a business treat thier customers in this manner!!!!!!
So I called back the next day to speak to the manager, he was not available. The guy on the phone asked if he can help me? I asked if he was the person there last night that threw my bag of dinner out? he said yes!! He got real rude again n said u can tell the manger anything u want, in a arrogant manner n tone, talking over my voice as he did the night before very very rude as if i was having a debate with a child. I asked him why did he hang up the phone on me that it was very rude n very unprofessional??? That i was a paying customer that did business in their place the night before n he threw away my $30 dinner out!!! His words were...i was busy with other customers thats why I hung up on u. So i asked if he hangs up on all his customers like that??? He said yes if im busy!!! He was busy when we came in n made a purchase but had no problem taking our money n not being the rude loud n unprofessional person he was on the phone. Once again, he hung up on me, saying he has customers, without saying bye!!!
I will go back there in person to speak to n bring this matter to managment about this terrible experience we had... n let other customers hear how this place conduct business with thier paying customers!!!! Without customer u dont have a business or a pay check, fact"!!!! Im a business owner my self of several different type of businesses with partners, n we would never allow this type of mistreatment with anyone doing business with us, even it was a small coffee shop like this one, no...
Read moreMe and my boyfriend got a Airbnb in the heart of little Italy to celebrate our anniversary. On the morning of March 27th around the time they opened we came in to order some breakfast. No one else was in there but two workers. We made our order with the women at the register. After I paid I heard a women from the kitchen yelling âare they really going to eat all of this?!â. I was shocked. In all of my life Iâve never had an interaction with a food service worker quite like this. Mind you we ordered two avocado toastâs, a fruit toast, and two drinks. She was upset that she had to fulfill our order that early in the morning. The Women who was helping us even had to tell her to stop being rude to us. I recall her saying âstop! They can hear youâ. She was so apologetic on her behalf but I was so upset at the comments and attitude that women in the kitchen kept screaming at us that I demanded my order be cancelled and refund immediately. The women who was helping us was kind enough to give us our drink on the house and our money back. When we left I was visibly shaken up and appalled at the experience we just had. Iâm sure this place is nice on most days but unfortunately I was never able to find out due to this women having a bad day and not wanting to do her job. We ended up walking over to a restaurant called âmorning gloryâ and had a much better experience. I tried calling the cafĂ© a number of times since and every time I call they say the manger is never in. Iâd loved to speak to him about my experience but since I canât get a hold of him I decided to write...
Read moreWelcome to your friendly neighborhood coffee shop. If ever there was a place where you could imagine yourself as a Ross or Rachel of San Diego, chillen and conversing in a comfy, nearby coffeehouse--this would be it.
Be warned it is cash only (though they do have an ATM), and the desserts really don't come up to par with their breakfast sandwiches, but their espresso and coffee is top notch. It's also a family-owned business where you will see the owner more often than not sitting and enjoying a cup of coffee with his guests.
And if you're looking for some good 'ole coffee art, look no further. Bet your Starbucks barista won't compete to the design they'll draw with foam for you...even if you do immediately drink and destroy it. When you know it's there, it means something.
So grab your "Friends" and enjoy a cup of coffee or two. Definitely a cozy spot before running your morning to-do list, especially when it's in the picturesque spot under the...
