Cocinas Del Monte — Restaurant in San Diego

First time at this restaurant. I had a basic breakfast of scrambled eggs and bacon. Eggs were the worst I've ever eaten. Tasted like fake eggs - very odd and grainy consistency. The bacon they serve is so salty, could eat them. The parsley sprig on the plate was warm and wilted - definitely not fresh. Should have been tossed rather than placed on rhe plate. Waitress was very nice and exchanged the bacon for sausage patty. Sausage tasted better, but, only one small patty. My husband had the French toast with strawberries. He said that meal was much better. Strawberry serving was nice for the meal and we're very good. Coffee was blah - tasted more like water. The coffee creamer immediately curdled in the cup. Again, the waitress was very nice and apologetic. They need to work on their food quality, preparation and serving size for the price. Bacon and eggs plate was $18.50 + tax! Overpriced for serving size and poor quality. We go to Old Town often and eat at many other restaurants there and have always had very good meals at fair /reasonable prices for really good quality and serving sizes. Worst service ever! 💯 Discrimination When I ordered my food he said: I had to pay up front after I just ordered and only cash. And I asked if, I wanted to order something else so, what he said: you would have to pay again 😲 I wanted to sit where the sun was and other white people were eating and they said no and almost put me in the corner. I order water with ice besides they brought me warm water no ice I had to get up for service. Even they brought me coffee and I had the beg for cream twice But, on the other side I saw the treatment was so, different. I payed upfront right away put they were acting like I was a terrorist. Besides, all the waiters where Mexicans I never felt the hug discrimination of my own kind. Then I asked for change to leave a tip and instead of the waiter coming the white manager asked me if, I asked for change. I said yes,! To leave a tip Her actitud was horrible. Why I didnt leave right a way or left tip? To show people manner but, I left really upset and depressed. Only good thing was the food. This was the worst experience ever. A group of 5 of us were looking for dinner before our 7pm show and got there at 6pm. After a slow start to getting menus and having our waitress take our orders we ordered drinks, an appetizer and dinner. After 20 min we finally got our drinks (only after having to seek out the waitress) and another 10 min for our appetizer, the ceviche - which had under fried, chewy chips. At 6:45 we told her we needed the food like now so we even had time to scarf it down and she said we were next. 5 min later we had to call it and ask for a partial refund (we had already paid the bill being on a time crunch) and went to our show hungry. Was not the staffs fault. It appeared they only had one waitress for the whole place and she was nice but clearly very overwhelmed. She also should have been honest about what kind of service or timing we could expect. We would have appreciated the honesty and could have gone elsewhere instead we were just unhappy...
