Recipes area joke, it all ceral or candy on donuts, nothing original about the place, well other then the salute to Lucifer in the name, "devil's dozen". This is over priced and sh!tty. $3+per donut and it's just syurp & sugar, not molasses or honey or vegan donuts (which is not even offered not any sort of health donut)...... While the employees are friendly, all customers are rude, it's like this place draws trash.... Go figure look at the name... Dozen of donuts $34!!! That's the cheapest.. lol Donuts are NOT big for the price. I can see the recent 5 stars are obviously from campaigns because that's all bs. These donuts do not melt in your mouth, nothing healthy or added to even justify $3+ a donut that no bigger then a winchells. The the coffee is crappy starting at $3+. Lol typical San diegans, wasteful and shameless. "Half the comments are pricey but worth it, or expensive but good... Lol sound like people convincing them self not to feel bad for the being so wasteful, how can something be too expensive, but good. So it's good to over price anything accpectable or positive, go America! Thank God this isn't medicine or something. Could you imagine what they would charge if they were, they would be like your typical corporations taking advantage of everyone, right now ONLY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE WEALTHy AND IGNORANT, YES, I AM TALKIG TO YOU DOWNTOWNERS AND WANA BE DOWNTOWNERS . FEEL IT, THATS NOT ANGER IT'S TRUTH RUBBING YOUR EGO! wealth=health wealth=dose not =$ , what's with no dudes there ever, only chicks ever have worked there, weird no...

My wife and I had the same experience; guilt over wasted calories. When the food is worth it then I don't care about calories, when it's an overall bad experience then I should have just gone with something else. Here is the issue, we both thought the donuts were completely lacking in taste. You take your first bite and because of the presentation you are someone optimistic. There is the initial "Mmmm... I got something in my stomach", then the subsequent bites you are like "is there anything in this thing?" I do not have much of a sweet tooth, but if I'm going to eat a donut then you should at least be able to taste some sweetness. The Vanilla bear was just boring. For someone who doesn't even enjoy crispy kreme I would have been a lot happier with a plain glazed donut from CK. The other 3 donuts that we got were pretty much all the same "where is the taste?" Also, their plain black coffee is overpriced and also lacking in taste. There was really nothing enjoyable about the experience. The guy at the front taking our order was emotionally flat. No "Hi! Welcome! Thanks for coming!" Nothing. He seemed like he didn't want to be there. I hate leaving bad reviews, but again, there was nothing about the coffee, donuts, or service that stood out. I would not...

I finally made it to this place during my final days in San Diego on a friend's suggestion. I have tried several donut shops in the city and honestly, I see the light in the dark with Devil's Dozen. . Tucked away on Kettner Boulevard in Little Italy, this branded cafe taunts and tempts anyone with a sweet tooth walking past their roadside, walkup counter. The donuts are made from scratch phresh daily and are available until what is in stock is sold out, so if you want the best of the variety, get there early. A woman with a cute and colorful head bow in her hair, cordially greeted me and took my order. I had the Vanilla Old Fashioned and an almond milk hot chocolate. . After receiving my goodies, I went upstairs to their seating area that overlooks the Waterfront park at San Diego Harbor. The donut was perfectly glazed on the outside and felt like a mix between soft cake and a muffin upon sinking my teeth into it. The glaze was more sweet than the dough which was a good contrast and balance for taste and worth the potential cavities. The cocoa was hot, but not searing and and had a round flavor probably some of the best cocoa I've had. If you want a good sugar rush to start your day and you're in the area, don't hesitate to dance with the...

Bought a dozen for my coworkers last day... Good: -It was a random Thursday morning so no line. -Presentation was nice, they obviously look pretty. Bad: -$40 for a dozen felt like a lot. I'm fine paying more for boutique, novelty donuts once in awhile. But yikes. -Greasy AF -Some were tasty but some were very not great. I was expecting a sensory explosion. Overall these were just average donuts. The bridge too far: -5% surcharge makes my head hurt. $40 for a dozen isn't enough to cover your costs? I'm guessing there's some canned response about extraordinary circumstances, supply chain disruptions, competitive wages, etc. It just feels like greed at society's expense. Running a business in weird economic times, why not create a cushion while you can? I want to understand. Or maybe there's something that I'm missing entirely. It just feels like a flagrant cash grab akin to oil and healthcare companies. If you are literally owned and operated by the Devil as your name implies, then I take it all back and award you 5 stars for creativity, honesty, and staying on brand. Otherwise, Rose Donuts are better in every way.

I’ve attempted to enjoy these donuts a handful of times, but they’re usually sold out of all of the unique flavors and (as others have mentioned) the time involved in purchasing donuts is prohibitive so I typically go elsewhere. When I went last week, I noticed this sign around the side of the shop for the first time. Not sure how long it’s been up, but wow- I will not be spending money here anymore. Alternative suggestions to the disgusting posting that discourages both hungry and helping humans: include an option upon checkout that allows for donating the cost of a donut to someone who would enjoy it and might be seen by staff later, post a sign of encouragement to the San Diegans who are unhoused nearby to direct them to mutual aid groups downtown that can offer more food, and/or take those donated donuts to the groups of humans on Kettner at the end of the day instead of the alleged organizational middleman. “Stop by if you are hungry!” places still enjoy good business and make for much better vibes; please seek those establishments instead if you have donut money to spend.
