Einstein Bros. Bagels — Restaurant in San Diego

Einstein Bros. generally makes great bagels, but the staff up front is subpar. Toasted bagels with cream cheese are always prepared here with a small dallop of cream cheese in the middle and squished together with the bagel. Most cream cheese ends up squeezing through the middle of the bagel with this technique, an issue I have not experienced at any other locations, where they use a more appropriate amount of cream cheese and spread evenly. Also, I came in for breakfast and was craving a blueberry bagel, I saw there were a few left available. I ordered a couple bagels and a drink with no issue, then the last of the blueberry bagels were all given to the lady BEHIND me in line. I was then told as I was already paying that there were no more blueberry bagels left. I was given a choice of bagels in the somewhat sparse display, but they did not see it as their mistake and I was not offered any form of compensation for the mishap. Also bagels were falling out of the baskets in the display, and not being placed back, not a preffesional look. Might seem trivial, but these things add up. I don't really leave negative reviews, but I had a craving and left paying for something I did not necessarily want, which makes for a less than...

I stopped by Einstein Bros Bagels to grab a dose of caffeine before the morning began for work. I noticed a range of families and people from different walks of life. Likely, most are either traveling or about to head off to work.

I searched on Reddit what is a favorite go-to order, and the following came up: Everything bagel with tomato, bacon and cream cheese.

So I ordered it and have been delightfully surprised! If you know what kind of bagel sandwich makes you happy, I hope you get what you want here.

I initially got a latte, and they make it using an expresso machine. I followed up with a cup of drip coffee as I also noticed a good number of customers grabbing them. There’s two different flavors for drip coffee that was provided. I choose the vanilla flavored one and it may be a bit too sweet for my liking hahaha.

The team here was good about bringing orders in a timely manner. I have been blessed. There’s only two tables to seat 3-4 people each inside. There are more outside seating.

A good place for a grab and go breakfast/brunch.

The lighting is quite warm and everything is relatively clean.

Terrible Experience! The one star for rating is even not worth for the service!

I just had a terrible experience at Einstein Bros Bagels. The guy who received my order was absolutely rude and unfriendly with poor attitude. He spoke too fast to not catch up, so I asked to rephrase it but he just repeated same short word very quickly.

I tried to ignore the situation but After I waited my order for 20 min I realized something wrong. He didnt display my order to the kitchen so nobody made it.

Another guy came to me and appologied with Free coupon. I explained my unpleasure experience and asked his name, who got my order. (He was tall and just left when I was waiting my bagles)

When I picked up my bagles and checked everything at my place, I shocked again.

He typed my name as Puk. The guy applogied me gave me an expired coupon.

I dont think I will visit again, even if they make really good bagles.
