Come to this place, located right at the end of the PB strip, and you'll see that it definitely tries to maintain a mode of operation that places it as an affordable gourmet restaurant. This explains the higher-than-most prices given its Mexican genre, and my experience definitely validates their claim. I came during happy hour and enjoyed $4 margaritas while waiting for my friends. The margarita was classic, semi-strong, and delicious! They complimented their house-made tortilla chips and fresh-made salsas wonderfully - not too salty, and robust in flavor. I particularly recommend the creamy habanero salsa! I came during happy hour and enjoyed $4 margaritas while waiting for my friends. The margarita was classic, semi - strong, and delicious! They complimented their house-made tortilla chips and fresh-made salsas wonderfully - not too salty, and certainly robust in flavor. I particularly recommend the creamy habanero salsa! Now on to the entrée: I ordered the carne asada and shrimp tampiquena, which featured a juicy steak (I ordered medium) and shrimp enchilada. It was plated beautifully with slices of fresh avocado adorning the steak. The enchilada was rich, cheesy, and had plenty of run-off sauce that I enjoyed with the rice and beans. A delicious and hearty meal. Check out Fat Fish Cantinagrill! 2 thumbs up from this guy!

Wait service was good and manager was a sweety, however kitchen staff need some training. I came with a group and probably had some of the best guacamole dip that I've ever had. However the initial good service was negated by a poor oversight of the kitchen staff. We had a person who is allergic to onions order a dish without them. They assured us they could do it. Then came the food layered with them. Rather than remake the dish, kitchen staff wiped the burrito down and represented it. Problem was, they left some of the onions still on it. In the end, the manager made it good for the person in our party who saw the poor service. I'll be back in the future to revisit. Perhaps at that point I can rerate the establishment more positively. In the mean time, try the Guac dip and the carna asada dishes. They were great.

Came before dinner rush and was served promptly. We got the Mexican corn, fish taco (2.50ea on Thursday) and lobster taco ($6). The corn was okay, but not as good some of the ones Ive had. I thought the fish taco was okay, but I really enjoyed the lobster in the lobster taco. I wish they made the tortilla and filling for it smaller to fit the amount of lobster that was actually in it. When I took out a piece of the lobster (they were chopped small like small shrimp size) and ate it itself, it was delicious, but together everything else kinda overwhelmed the taste. We ordered the churro dessert as well and it was delicious. The churro is fried fresh and it goes well with the raspberry sauce and whipped cream. Did not taste nutella in it though.

So the service at this place was not pleasant well at least not from our server a woman named Brooke. It started off when I asked what the tacos contained and she replied what do you mean. I said yeah what else comes in the tacos besides the meat? She answers with an attitude and says well carnitas and the other one with shrimp. To me she was treating me as if I were dumb. I said to her that’s different they usually come with some sort of toppings. She says well yeah with pico still with an attitude. I decided to order the tacos despite her weird behavior along with a lemonade. When the tacos came they also contained cheese and cabbage and one of the tacos also came with sour cream. I said to myself ok I’ll give her a break maybe she’s having a bad day or something. Then I had to catch her attention to ask if They happened to have salsa to go along with the tacos she looks at me as if I were asking a weird question and asks what do you mean again. I asked in a different way now she has me worried. I said to myself maybe she has some type of disability or something, she did answer that they had cholula or the salsa She had given us for the chips. I said yeah cholula is fine. The point is that besides her horrible attitude she never brought the cholula, passed more than a few times by my table and didn’t even bother to ask if I needed a refill on my drink, or if we were doing ok. We were still nice about the whole situation and you will not believe what she did! We paid for our bill with four dollars left over (which would be her tip) . She came back and said was there something wrong I replied why to see what she would say she’s answers well there’s only four dollars with an attitude. I replied yes we did not enjoy your service. She says what do you mean so I explained to her everything I just mentioned, she rolls her eyes and I said wait is it an obligation to give you a tip or an explanation? She’s like no just have never gotten only four dollars and walks off. I see her walk straight to the manager and was talking to him he looked out way. I hope they do not accept this type of behavior. I took the time to write this long review not only because we had never experienced this horrible service , but because we are business owners as well and her behavior is not acceptable under any...

So I really don’t ever leave reviews, good or bad but I really feel compelled to leave a review this time because my experience at Fat Fish went from great to worse! About three weeks ago I went to Fat Fish for the first time randomly. I ordered a drink and I ordered some food, everything was great, the service I received was amazing and the drinks were also amazing so I decided, let me give it another try the following week. First of all I’m a very loyal person when I find a restaurant or a company that provides great service and everything taste great. Once I find my place for one thing I never go to another place for that thing Fat Fish was MY new place in such a short span of time. So I go back a second time which was about two weeks ago, I went back the following week, I was served by the same person again and this time I was even more blown away by the service more specifically the drinks that he poured because usually it’s easy to mess up a drink but it was so perfect it was so so perfect and it was strange that it came out perfect because he poured an entire pitcher of margarita and I’ve never tasted a margarita better than the one he served us. I’ve been drinking all over the world and I’ve never tasted a drink this great! Let’s fast forward to yesterday. Yesterday I had a not so great experience at fat Fish with a new server and I’m kind of sad and to find out that the person that was servicing me before was let go for whatever reason but I can’t help think that we are getting rid of our most valuable players without knowing that they are valuable players. After yesterday’s experience I don’t think I will ever go back to Fat Fish simply because I will not be getting the same the same service that I was getting initially. It’s the reason I kept coming back! Besides the drinks, that guy actually made me feel wanted there and actually set a great vibe. I would definitely say that you got rid of someone that was doing your business justice, business owner to business owner. Please take the time to find out who is actually doing your company justice and living up to the company standards. Wherever that bartender you let go starts to work at I will definitely be drinking there. He’s good at what he does and his professionalism,...

Come here every time I'm in San Diego and love it. However, today service wasn't great. Not sure why and it happens but just for today, took 1 star away. Food was still great. It was not busy at all. They open at 4 currently so lunch isnt an option. We got there around 4:45. Free chips and salsa are amazing here but today not salted or seasoned. We were sat at a table near the bar. No one came. Eventually a manager did. He took the whole order. Water no ice came with ice. Drinks took a long time (1 margarita, 1 beer). A server arrived next to take our order. We told her that it was already taken by the manager. Our food eventually arrived but one taco of 2 was incorrect so they brought back out the correct 2 on the plate. No big deal. We never saw the server or anyone again til we were sitting there with empty plates, empty drinks, empty salsa, etc. The only time we saw her was when she tried to take the order and brought the bill. We asked for a refill on the chips and salsa which she did bring in a to go container as requested. It took forever to get our credit card back to sign and included the money off we paid to park. The sign out front said you get 2 hours free parking from the restaurant but she gave us 1. Which was a little less than we were there. So free parking upon request but they keep the ticket you are supposed to put on the windshield so we couldnt really walk around after even if we paid another hour. Just poor service from this girl. Maybe she was new, idk. But food good and tons of...
