Edit: Iām sorry to say that Iām updating/editing my review and not to shout out an employee or highlight something positive at this Board and Brew. This location USED to be amazing however the past few visits Iāve noticed that it has started to go downhill and FAST. Iām not sure if itās due to staff changes, lack of training, knowledge or care but the staff is now almost always borderline rude (or straight up rude depending on the employee you get), food is slow to come out and cold (even if you order something from the grill) and almost always wrong. And when your food is wrong the staff acts like youāre the jerk for not wanting it? As someone with food sensitivities this is extremely frustrating because Board and Brew used to be one of my easy, go to āsafeā places. Now itās justā¦.not. I really do hope that Board and Brew makes the necessary adjustments to get this location back to the awesome place it used to be. Because itās just not anymore and that is beyond sad.
This Board and Brew location is awesome! Not only is the staff amazing (I cannot for the life of me remember his name but I believe heās the manager or the owner!) but I have literally never had my order be wrong and I am someone who has to make a few changes due to food sensitivities. They are always extremely busy but are quick and efficient and polite. What more can you ask for? I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently came to this location on my last day of visiting the Pacific Beach area with my family for lunch after checking out the boardwalk and surrounding shops. I liked the overall vibe of this restaurant, which features many skateboards and mosaic tiles made out of skateboards adorning the turquoise-painted walls.
I ordered a vegi supreme sandwich with a side of potato salad, and both items I ordered were delicious! However, I didnāt know that I needed to pick up my container of potato salad in the fridge next to the counter when I was ordering; which explains why I was confused as to why the staff did not bring it out at the same time they brought my sandwich. The sandwich was a bit messy to eat as well. I could only eat my first half in the restaurant before attempting to take the rest home for leftovers (I donāt like to waste food); which I greatly appreciate them providing to-go bags for easy access for customers. However, after sitting in my purse during a 6-hour long car ride home; the leftovers werenāt fresh anymore and I had to throw them away.
Besides this, I highly recommend giving this place a try if youāre a local or...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhile on our cross country road trip we stayed in San Diego for 2 days. We come from the North East, Rhode Island, we are super food critics up there. This little shop was definitely a highlight of the trip. The sandwiches were a 10. They are huge! You definitely get your $7/$8 bucks worth. The turkado was recommended so I went with it and it was literally one of the best I have ever had. Bonus, they have this special sauce that was so friggin good I could have drank it. Atmosphere was awesome. Music playlist was totally kick ass. Jose was working and took our order and the owners should be really lucky to have him. The second we walked in his face lit up like vegas and he was super happy to let us know what the favorite sandwiches are. He was really awesome. While we were eating he noticed and older couple gazing in the window and rushed right outside to say hi and give them a menu. Give that man a raise or a promotion! My only regret is that I didn't purchase one of their shirts or hooded sweatshirts. I would have liked to have that for a nostalgic momento. So much love from Rhode...
