I really can't hold back on making this review. From past experiences, I can't say this is really how this establishment runs, because I've had other "okay" experiences. But today, Halloween day, there is a gentleman at the door dressed up as a giraffe, tail and all. I didn't get a chance to get his name but he is the only one there wearing a giraffe costume. I initially asked if I could sit at the bar where there was an extra seat on both sides and others were seated along the other seats, I was alone. He said no that I couldn't sit there and I asked why. He told me it was because of the social distancing. I was seated in the way back on the stage. It was a bit busy, but it took an unreasonable amount of time to make an order. I went over to the bar and asked for a splash of beer but the gentleman wearing his tye dye shirt said I couldn't. I asked nicely if he knew why I couldn't sit at the empty seat at the bar. He told me that giraffe boy had reserved those seats for his friends. I also told him I had asked the customers sitting there and they were ok with me sitting there. As a previous server in the industry I know a customer will always be a priority before an employee's friends. I got TWO SEPARATE REASONS as to why I couldn't sit there. I never had a chance to order food so I only drank a beer I finally had the chance to order from Luigi, the server. When I ask for my check, I realize there I a gentleman seating there, a white gentleman. I couldn't understand why HE was allowed to sit there but not me. So i decided to close out and go ask giraffe boy respectfully. I asked if he can just give me a logical explanation as to why I couldn't sit where I had initially asked. He told me he didn't have time to explain, that he was very busy. He added that the manager had made the decision to not sit me there. I couldn't believe what had just happened. These are complicated times when people are sensitive and reactivate to being treated unfairly. Although I didn't react, it struck me. I'm ok. But this gentleman makes this reflect on this bar, his management and staff. I just can't go back, I was truly a regular and an obvious go-to but this...
Read moreIf I could leave negative stars I would! We have vacationed in the area for years... weâve never thought it looked like a good place to go. The breakfast place next door has a mile long line every day for what seems to be hours but between the lack of crowd (compared to other like establishments) and no one ever recommending it we just never went! Tuesday 06/18/19 at 7:30PM we decided to try it out... what a waste of time! We walked south down the boardwalk walk, once again EVERYTHING but 710 was busy. We walked north on the boardwalk... same! We circled around even stopping twice at 710 to look at the menu but the loud game turned us off both times... âquestion 1; what drink has 23 flavorsâ... so annoying, repeated over and over!! We just wanted to eat without being screamed at!! Finally we said letâs just check it out. We walked in and a friendly bouncer said it was opening seating, we sat down and waited and waited and waited! What seemed to be the only waitress chatted with a man and woman a table away about the women getting a job. We waited and waited and waited. We were in no rush but at what point does someone say âIâll be right with youâ??? After 10 minutes we left, the same nice but clearly dense bouncer (the same one out there in his phone right now at 11:07PM) said âhave a good nightâ, my only response was âwe will at a place where people will serve usâ! Clearly no one cares about customer satisfaction. After all these years weâve always wondered why 710 is never as busy as other places, and most nights closes earlier than their posted time... well now we know!! But I will thank 710 for flat out ignoring us, as the time spent there landed us in a booth with the prefect beach sunset view at a place just south that was...
Read moreThe bouncer Sean needs training. He said I had just been there and caused an altercation with friends. He didnât allow me in. I donât think Iâve ever been in that place ever. He mistook me for someone else. Then he said the person had a similar name and age as me. Now I want to go back and see the footage he said they have. I want to know who this bad girl twin of mine is.
So, it could be a super odd coincidence. Or, Sean is profiling.
Thatâs not the problem. The problem is that he was immediately abrasive and forceful when speaking to me. He didnât even let me say a first word. He talked to me like I had committed a crime for which I had to suffer consequences. For a second, he doubted himself when he saw my face of confusion. And even then he didnât find the character to say it. He said âyou can come speak to my manager tomorrow. But we have footage âŚâ So, heâs one, mocking me because he knows no one will return to complain, and two, heâs threatening me by saying he has footage.
I hadnât even asked for either a manager or footage. Like, relax, Sean.
No one likes to be told that they look commonplace. And no one likes to say that theyâve to pay consequences for looking commonplace. So, chose when you raise your voice wisely. You can get your point across in a professional way.
Youâre in the service industry. A simple âsorry, but âŚâ. Calm your tone. Anger will give you ulcers. Learn to act professionally. Learn to respect others. Learn the golden rule. I guarantee that youâll like your job and your life a lot more.
So. This place is lucky that itâs in the location that itâs in. People must like it because itâs by the ocean. Otherwise, the energy feels cringy. And make sure that you donât resemble...
