Food was delicious and served fairly quickly! Wasn't too busy at that time. I didn't see and wasn't offered any kids menus or options. So I got my daughter the American breakfast (eggs, bacon, potatoes, toast) and I got the sammie. If I had the sammie again I'd have the eggs over medium so it's not too messy, but it was still very good! I added their special ketchup sauce and it brought it to another level! If you like cafe de la oya, this place is pretty close to the authentic stuff! If you have kids you might be better off ordering sides for them so the food doesn't go to waste as my daughter only ate half of the adult-sized meal. Only reason for the 4 stars is that the staff seemed very short with me and business-like. Not disrespectful at all by any means, just didn't feel very warm and welcoming even though the rest of the atmosphere does have that feel. The greeter was very short with me and didn't smile, but I did observe him being friendly with other guests. So maybe it was just us. Person serving the coffee didn't smile. Our server was the same and very business-like at first, but did smile once later on. He also was nice enough to ask if we parked in the correct area to avoid towing and he also noticed that only my daughter's food came out and not mine. So he ordered it again "on the fly." I don't fault them for that, I think it was a glitch in the system. I come from a company where customer service is the top priority. So I tend to notice those little details more, but as I mentioned before I did notice other guests getting service with a smile. Overall I'd still recommend. We were there on a Tuesday morning at 10:30am. I was told 20min wait, but ended up being only 10min. They also said the terrace was closed and wasn't told what time it opened. So not sure if maybe it opens later if at all. It was also confusing regarding reservations. They have a funny sign with Christopher Walken's face that reads "No reservations, only walkens" but I saw 2 diff groups walk up and get seated right away while we were waiting. So maybe they do take...

Everything was SUPERB. We also were told to expect a 20 min wait and it only took 10! Prices are really reasonable and the food taste like it cost triple! We got 3 meals (one each and one to share cause we why not?!). If we had only gotten one meal each, it would have been less than $30 each with our drinks too.

I got

  1. French toast on the rocks. If we didn't have to leave as soon as we needed to, I could have drunk 4. I'm usually the one who likes drinking, but finds the booze flavor is either too strong, or the drink was too sweet. This was neither. Absolutely the perfect start to our fairytale like meal.

  2. the pancake flight (you get to pick any 3, and the purple one is a lavender one)!. The lavender one was a (monthly?) special!

  3. The crab/crawfish cake Benedict with avocado and tomato. You might read the description and doubt it all works together. It ALL works together. Even the side potatoes (which is usually my least favorite part of the meal) were good! You could even upgrade them to better potatoes for 2 bucks, and maybe I'll do that next time but this was a perfect meal!

  4. My boyfriend got the breakfast Mac with his eggs scrambled. I think he would rate those 4/5, only because the eggs weren't integrated like we thought they might be. But we decided that next time we'll order the eggs on top poached, and the runny egg yolk on top would go perfect with the cast iron...

Recently, my brother and I visited the restaurant Breakfast Republic and we were extremely impressed. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the service was exceptional. My brother and I came to the United States from Mexico to work and since we arrived, we had not tasted such delicious food as the one they had at Breakfast Republic.

The food was incredibly delicious. My brother and I tried several dishes, but our favorites without a doubt were the "Shrimp and Grits BF" and the "Jalapeño Bacon Cheddar Sausage Omelette" which were prepared with fresh ingredients and a wide variety of flavors. The portion sizes were perfect, we didn't feel overwhelmed but we were full and satisfied.

In addition to the food, the service was exceptional. The staff was friendly and helpful, always willing to assist with any questions or requests. The restaurant was also very clean and well-maintained.

I must say that Breakfast Republic is our favorite restaurant and if our economic possibilities were different we would like to have breakfast there every day. Without a doubt, I would recommend Breakfast Republic to anyone looking for a delicious breakfast and a...

My family visited this place for brunch recently on a Sunday morning. Parking could potentially be a challenge as this place is a block from the beach, but we got luck and grabbed a spot right next to the restaurant. Once checked in around 11am we had about a 40 minute wait from arrival to seating. After our wait, we were seated at a table in the back corner. Nice for being out of the middle of the restaurant, but a bit warm without any moving air. Both my kids ordered pancakes for their meals. My wife got the mashed potato omelet and I had the California breakfast burrito. The kids were very satisfied with their pancakes. Neither were able to finish the three large cakes as the portions were ample. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her omelet, which she had ordered partly out of curiosity. I also enjoyed my burrito, though I feel like there could have been a bit more steak and a little less potato. Overall, the whole family enjoyed their meals. While we don't live in San Diego, we'd definitely come back if we're ever in town again. This is definitely a good place to grab brunch on a lazy Sunday morning.
