I found this through a map search for ice cream. It is a cute little shop in a shopping center about a quarter mile from the Children's Pool. The shopping center has a small parking lot and lots of empty spaces on a Sunday afternoon.
Froglanders has tea and coffee drinks, savory and sweet crepes, and frozen yogurt that you can top with various toppings. It isn't a self serve frozen yogurt place. Instead they put the frozen yogurt and toppings in the cup. My kid got the "tadpole" size, which was perfect for a single person and only 4.50 (toppings were 0.50 per topping extra). I cannot have dairy so had an Amazing crepe with Nutella, strawberry, banana, and whipped cream. My kid loved watching them make the crepe. I was expecting a dollop of whipped cream but instead they gave me an entire cup (our order was to go).
Service was awesome and the two people working were so kind to me and my daughter. We loved the cute frog-themed names and decor...
Read moreThis is the best business I've been to in La Jolla! The owner is super friendly and always personally offering samples of yogurt he changes frequently to keep it amazing and interesting. It is far better than a self serve place for sanitary reasons and to make it feel like a friendly, family owned stop. We love the interior, with high ceiling, and my daughter and her friend counted nearly 40 decorative frogs in the place for fun. We come here 2-3 times after a class. The owner even makes me any type of coffee I want that's not on the menu, like Mexican mocha coffee or ghirardelli chocolate coffee, or even kona coffee yogurt iced coffee! We were here 2 years ago and the owner even remembered us. Now he's making frozen yogurt pies and maybe frozen yogurt cakes next that will sure to be a hit as ice cream cakes tend to soften too slowly! Can't wait! Thank you,...
Read moreStopped by this place to grab something sweet before the comedy show across the street. The staff was friendly and welcoming, I'll give them that. But thats the only positive thing I've got to say. One member was in the middle of changing out the trash (it was close to closing) when he offered me to try samples. I chose one and it took me a second to realize he handed me the sample with the same hands he wss changing out the trash. Then i noticed All the fruit flies. I get it, nature is hard to fight. But they were everywhere in the toppings area. I decided to not get anything. My friend, however, had already ordered a coffee. It took so long that I left and got in line for the show, and after that, still took 16 more minutes. For a coffee. Will not...
